Brookdale Hospice-Cleveland Network Careers and Employment
Who is Brookdale? Brookdale is a national company, but we serve people locally. We operate approximately 1,150 communities, with 80 thousand associates serving about 100 thousand residents every day. When you include family members, that’s millions of people we’re serving – millions of lives where we are making a difference. We are located in 330 separate – more...markets, covering 81% of the country, in 46 states.
However, our goal is not to be the biggest, but the best. Our mission is to enrich the lives of those we serve with compassion, respect, excellence, and integrity, and we strive each and every day to provide outstanding service, and to form genuine bonds of caring with our residents and their families.
The philosophy at Brookdale Hospice is that life is much more than physical health; it also includes the health of the human spirit. When physical health begins to fail, the nurturing of the spirit becomes critical for maintaining the dignity of the individual.
Hospice is a philosophy of care focused on comfort and quality of life at the end of life. It is designed to treat the whole person emotionally, socially, spiritually and physically by providing comfort and support to patients and their families when a life-limiting illness no longer responds to cure-oriented treatments. As part of the process, family members also receive care and support – all provided by a team of specially trained professionals and volunteers. Bereavement services for family continue for one year after the patient has died
Our Hospice partners with seniors and their families to customize an entire hospice care plan as it relates to the terminal illness. In short, our hospice team is responsible for knowing and understanding the full spectrum of the patient’s entire medical circumstances and its management and helping the senior and their family remain comfortable and well care throughout their hospice experience. Although Hospice services can be provided on an intermittent basis, staff is available around the clock, seven days per week to address urgent needs. Hospice services are covered under Medicare and many private insurance plans. – less
