STORE MANAGER (Current Employee) – Scarsdale, NY – October 2, 2018
Brooks Brothers is a very good company to work for. They have very good benefits and excellent discounts for their employees. The product is high quality so it easy to sell when you believe in the product. Top managenet is pretty good. There are weeklydistrict meetings to inform you of how everything is going. New things that will be happening and what upcoming sales we will be having. In addition there is also a monthly meeting which includes other districts. They also have training for all different areas. The company has been in business since 1818 and is still running strong. It is nice to woek for a company with such a long and impressive background.

The nature of the products required a high level of interaction and relationship building with clients. Many clients were repeat customers who dealt specifically with a favorite associate. The team I worked with was exceptional and consistently worked together on everything from floorsets to team selling.
Great customers, products, benefits
Communication from corporate office weak, company doesn't have a good record of hiring from within.
Brooks Brothers sales associate position is great for those who wish to get a head start in the luxury market. As America's oldest and continuous standing retailer, the brand has cemented its image into American prep and business culture. They will prepare you to deal with clientele that maintain higher standards, and how to sell to them. They will also show you how build sales from the smallest of items, such as a pair of socks, into a much bigger sale. Career advancement is not the easiest, as they are big on promoting from the outside rather than within. I worked for hourly pay only, non commission, with a bonus paid monthly if the store hit its target goal. The bonus was split among associates with higher percentages going to those who work more hours.
Discount is unbeatable, on some great product nonetheless
Advancement is very difficult, bonus system is a little unfair

The was by far the best job ever! Great entry level position with great benefits. A family environment and a great opportunity to grow. I was very disappointed when the company decided to relocate the call center.

Great team Training and company executives are amazing always making sure you are satisfied with the job. Very much an open door environment. Travel is reimbursed quickly. PTO is given to part time associates as well as full time.
Everyday I wish I hadn’t have placed myself in a position to be forced to leave this company . The pay was great , benefits were top notch , the hours were perfect , just sad now thinking about how much I miss this place . The most perfect retail job on the planet ...
Team Leader/Sales Associate (Former Employee) – Jacksonville, FL – August 21, 2018
The job itself is fun and rewarding, but the small amount of customers visiting the store on a daily basis can make the days boring and filled with monotonous tasks (straightening the same pair of pants for the third time, refolding the same shirt, etc.). Overall, it's a great job for young people in school looking to learn how to dress well and interact with professional businesspeople.

The people who work for Brooks Brothers are great. However over the last few years I have seen a decline regarding company values. Recently so many have been cut back to PT...lost their health benefits. As a result they have lost many good people who have been with the company for over 30 years. People who have been a trade mark to this companies continued success. Currently they are doing away with Tailors in most of the stores and expect employees to know how to do all the marking. They are running their stores on skeleton crews and expect you to make appointments on your own time to show product and the Made to Measure Program. This company is no longer what it used to be. It no longer has the prestigious as an American Icon.

The culture at brooks brothers is welcoming. But there is little to no room for advancement and they are making cuts on salaries. You must be available on weekends and holidays. Requesting time off can be a bit of a headache, so work-life balance is horrible. Other than that you may enjoy your coworkers, but not fully enjoy the job.
