Fairly good place to work

Indeed Featured review

The most useful review selected by Indeed
Overall, it is a good workplace. The pay could be better. Culture depends on the unit. Ratios also depend on the unit. Starting as a new grad I had a good experience.

Work of heart

I loved my job with Bryan. My manager was amazing and very supportive in every way possible. She did her best to establish work life balance for employees and took feedback into consideration. Some patients were tough, but that’s healthcare. I just couldn’t do nights anymore and was supported in that transition.

Pros

Supportive management

Cons

Night shift, benefits

Different experiences every day

Love the people I work with. Benefits are pretty good. Lots of great incentives to work for the company. I personally appreciated all the extra things the company did for us when we were in the middle of Covid. Those gestures made me feel appreciated and valued as an employee.

Many changes in recent years

Upper and direct management has really lost touch / stopped caring about front line employees. It’s very different than used to be years ago before they started buying everything.

Good company

Very fun place to work. Get to see and talk to a lot of different people as its a very big building. Being able to explore the entire hospital made it very enjoyable.

Good staff nurses

My coworkers were divine, management was a little out of touch. Pay was fair. Workplace culture depended on your unit. Look for a good unit manager and you’ll have a good time.

Great experience in an acute care setting, great team of people and management who are very helpful

Great experience in an acute care setting, great team of people who are very helpful and great to work with. Can be a stressful work environment with long hours and critically ill patients. Very fast paced.

they are more concerned about money than people

Bryan is more focused on the money and less on the people and the tools you need to do your job. They will increase your workload exponentially, not increase pay, and not give you the tools or training to succeed.

Pros

discounted food

Cons

short breaks, micromanaging, favoritism, incompetent bosses

Great coworkers and leadership

This was a great place to work. It is a tight knit community and the leadership does a good job at communicating with the staff. Their quarterly forums were helpful.

Longevity

Great place to work, many opportunities for advancement and growth within. A lot of long term employees! I worked as a nurse tech while I completed my degree, then a nurse on the floor. Lots of great learning and support as I was in school.

Nice

In my specific area our bosses help when when we need them and they are so helpful when we have questions about anything. I enjoy this area and would recommend it to others.

It's just not worth it.

What is the best part of working at the company?I loved most of my coworkers. The majority were there for the patients, a few were not. What is the most stressful part about working at the company? The mandatory overtime and patient load. What is the work environment and culture like at the company? The work environment was stressful, the culture did not support the nurse. No one should have lost their job during Covid. What is a typical day like for you at the company?huddle in the morning before going to the floor, prioritizing your day after, getting to a patient room, and then getting a call to go do something else, prep a pt, lab, etc. mornings were total chaos. Depending on who was the charge nurse that day, set the tone for whether or not you would get help.

Great workflow

This company is a good company to work for. Pay could be a little more. The employees are great, making it fun environment to work in. Decent benefits package as well.

High expectations, not enough staff

My manager was great, but they were always short staffed. Rarely got a CNA for the floor and dietary, phlebotomy, housekeeping always short staffed, so nurses end up doing the job of 5 people for no extra pay. When there was enough staff, you can count on them sending people home.

I like healthcare analytics but management sucks

Overall my biggest complaint is management and the "big boys" club it fosters. Nobody actually cared or listened to my issues. If you have a good manager, it can be a good work environment.

Cons

Health insurance is poor, most in-network providers are not good, there's a lot of "thats just the way it is" so in hindsight I wish I went elsewhere.

2 stars

What is the best part of working at the company? The only benefit was since you work 12s you have more days off a week. What is the most stressful part about working at the company?Long hours, nurses on phones not answering call lights, managers not wanting to do their job by reprimanding those not doing their part and instead tell you to talk to them What is the work environment and culture like at the company?Shifty, some nurses are supportive but most were not. What is a typical day like for you at the company?Get to work do a team meeting, then take Report on half or the whole floor, then run non stop all shift not stopping.
