Staff is Great!

Indeed Featured review

The most useful review selected by Indeed
We are usually short staffed on my unit so it is very hard to have a good day. I have learned a lot about patients and how to talk to others and how to handle stressful situations. Management on my unit is very hard to work with and make us feel unappreciated sometimes. I love working with most of my coworkers but management doesn’t help resolve issues amongst staff and end up driving people away from this unit.

Pros

very helpful and nice nurses and techs

Cons

management is very hard to work with

Don’t work here as a PCT.

Management is horrible and plays favorites big time. They don’t care about you if you aren’t one of their favorites. Often times staff that consider themselves above others treat house keeping and kitchen staff horrible. Most of the aides are lazy and expect one person to do all of the work. Would recommend working at CHI above GIRMC. Start off paying low to. $15 if you don’t have experience.

Pros

Free food sometimes

Cons

You will get burnt out quick.

What is the best part of working at the company? The only benefit was since you work 12s you have more days off a week. What is the most stressful part about working at the company?Long hours, nurses on phones not answering call lights, managers not wanting to do their job by reprimanding those not doing their part and instead tell you to talk to them What is the work environment and culture like at the company?Shifty, some nurses are supportive but most were not. What is a typical day like for you at the company?Get to work do a team meeting, then take Report on half or the whole floor, then run non stop all shift not stopping.

Non-Support of Single Parent Family

In my experience at Bryan Health the culture is not supportive of single parents. It was hard to find a place in the work culture as a single parent and the policies are unfair and politically based. Would not recommend.

Good place to work

Enjoy working here and the culture, and work load is appropriate. Sometimes nurses can be petty. The pay and benefits are very nice. And I feel supported by management somewhat.

Low base pay for techs, good night shift differential

Most of the RNs and nurse managers are easy to work with, with a couple bad eggs here and there. Base pay is low for techs, though the recent increase in shift differential has somewhat made up for it.

The feeling of belonging and open arms

Love this hospital! Left due to age and retirement. The responsibilities are awesome, feeling like part of a valued team member. Left only because I was aging and due to magnitude of team playing responsibilities, feared the possibility of missing something that might cause significant outcomes for a patient.

Very respectful team oriented work environment

Coworkers and management are very respectful and easy to work with. Best place I’ve personally ever worked. Pay could definitely be better for CNAs. That’s literally the ONLY downside.

Very productive job

Every time I go into work, I know I'm going in for a purpose which makes every shift worth it. The nurses that I work with are all super encouraging and teach me something new every time I go into work.

Horrible, horrible nursing staff.

I wouldn’t recommend working here if you are a CNA who has actual drive to help people. The RNs will suck the life out of you and make you feel extremely low about yourself, even questioning your purpose or being there. I was called stupid, worthless, and “why have I worked as an aid for 6 years when I could have a less embarrassing title on my badge. I often was just shortly disrespected or belittled and it got so extreme I just quit without notice.

Great co workers, bad administration

The management is spending too much time and money fixing things that are not broken. Cares more about numbers than anything else but refuses to give resources needed to reach those numbers
