Local Stations Master Control Operator (Former Employee) – Toledo, OH – December 7, 2017
Job was fine, but always had a sense there was no way to really advance or move up in company. I did not have a good feel for what the company was doing as a whole or what the outlook looked like.
the company does not appreciate any of the employees they have there is no room to advance the company much like there customers would rather see you leave then to try and keep you terrible communication issues with management!
Hours are way to long, company doesn't care about its employees at all, rather peddle cruddy services for way to much money. No room for advancement. Also you will get zero choice in scheduling and you'll never get home on time.
Data Analyst (Former Employee) – Rossford, OH – January 11, 2018
Since the new president came on board people are being eliminated daily no matter how long they were dedicated to the company. It is difficult to see long time coworkers lose their jobs.
No one is valued as a person, Buckeye Cable only looks at the bottom line.
Management is cruel and relentless.
Fear is the common culture.
Taking on multiple tasks as directed with no direction.
It is very hard to switch departments at this company and there is not much room for advancement. The pay is also low for the work required. They used to have a matching program for the 401k but I believe they may have discontinued that.
Pros
There was a good benefits package when I worked there
Technical Support Technician (Former Employee) – Toledo, OH – March 3, 2017
The tech support call center is a busy place, the call center supervisors are great. Everybody is a team player, very personable people. Excellent to work with.
My experience with Buckeye on a day to day basis was good. I did not find a chance to grow. There was not any cross training to expand your job potential or job skills.
Technical Support Specialist (Former Employee) – Toledo, OH – January 21, 2016
Working at BCS was a pleasure. Typical day consisted of helping customers through technical problems they were experiencing with BCS service(s). The environment was sociable and lighthearted. The hardest part of the job was the scheduled hours which conflicted with personal matters/goals.
Technical Support Specialist (Current Employee) – Toledo, OH – October 18, 2015
In my experience, it resulted to only working for a paycheck. They pay well, and are big on promoting within, which has both positives and negatives. But I couldn't deal with the micromanagement anymore.
Loved the perks and incentives with being a Sales Specialist. A typical day would consist on taking inbound calls for new cable, internet and/or phone. The best part of it all was being able to connect with the customers.
CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE (Current Employee) – Toledo, OH – July 21, 2015
A typical day at Buckeye I spend answering consumers' questions, resolving their complaints, taking their orders and signing them up for new services. I also interact with customers via phone, email or live chat. Ive learned alot about Buckeye's products and services. I enjoy working with my co-workers, we are a team.
Good place to work when it comes to helping customers,,the benefits are great. I have meet some great people at buckeye. Nice places where Buckeye has their company picnics an this company always volunteers around the community.
Design Consultant/Technical Support Specialist (Current Employee) – Toledo, OH – January 6, 2015
This is a very fast paced company. High stress and high demand give a feeling of accomplishment once mastered. The middle management is very ineffective at communication, so you must stay on top of procuring most information (even job-necessary info), but the upper management is a solid force running a local company.
Way to much he said/she said. Quick to judge on personal feelings by some. There is also some great people on the management teams in other areas of the company.
Buckeye CableSystem was a great place to work. The only set back is that they only employ part-time work. My co-workers were the best and we always worked as a team. The job was fun and their was always incentives to strive for! Management was very professional.
Customer Service Representative (Former Employee) – Toledo, OH – July 18, 2013
Typical customer service; answering phones and helping customers with their services and bills. Co-workers and management were easy-going. Disgruntled customers were not pleasant, however the relaxed atmosphere of the job itself was enjoyable.
The testament i s in the workforce. People who push the aspect of community and how the area is being serviced from their friends and neighbors.... really works. People have worked there 20 years are still there because of the atmosphere.
