Teacher Assistant (Former Employee) - 76 Lorraine St - September 19, 2023
Indeed Featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedVERY VERY poor management. From my experience, they really don’t care about their employees or the kids for that matter. I expressed my concerns many times just to be blatantly ignored. Most of the time they were understaffed, you had subs and teacher assistants being forced to act as Lead Teachers. There’s just a lot of unprofessionalism to the point where it’s stressful. Unsafe and Uncomfortable working environment .

Not Worth It
3k Teacher Assistant (Former Employee) - 5721 6th avenue - September 20, 2023
They changed the 6th avenue center vacation days and hours given to TAs without notice until after summer break. They regularly break DOH rules by combining classrooms when too many teachers call out (which is all the time). Most children have behavioral issues and are not given any paras or extra support. If you are a TA, you are responsible for more that 75% of classroom responsibilities and can be switched in and out of classrooms without notice. Upper management has a nasty attitude and will never provide you help and you will need to call them a million times to get a response. The pay period is 15 days but you will have to wait 4 more days to actually receive your pay, so you work 19 days no pay. NOT WORTH THE STRESS
Pros
Other staff that isnt part of managment or HR is very kind and helpful
Cons
pay is late, no suppport, too little hours, no breaks

Toxic Work Environment
Teacher Assistant (Former Employee) - Brooklyn, NY - August 29, 2023
I suggest to not apply here. You do not get promoted or a raise. You receive pay semi-monthly and you will not receive it on time. Once you help them out they are rude and have no respect for their workers. The main office does not communicate with you. If you are apart of the LGBTQ community, they will not keep you around and you will get fired before your probation period.
Pros
Co-Workers
Cons
Pay, Toxic Environment

The kids are the best but management Communication is little to non existent!
Teacher Assistant (Former Employee) - Crown Heights, NY - July 9, 2023
Definitely wouldn't work here again. Different location have different rules but most teachers are great, as well as students. Some locations will work you while others let you do nothing. Management is HORRIBLE. Won’t put you on the schedule while other people work everyday. Also if you have any questions or need help, it will take days to get an answer or help. Supervisor picks and chooses who works. Also, messed up on payment multiple times.
Pros
hour lunch, helpful staff
Cons
overworked, lack of communication

Great place for growth
Lead Teacher (Current Employee) - Red Hook, NY - March 15, 2023
Coworkers are nice and collaborative. There's always something new to learn and growth professional and personal. Most enjoyable part of the job is working with the children and seeing their growth.

Fun and Nice place to work at
Substitute Teacher Assistant (Current Employee) - Sunset Park, NY - January 12, 2023
Overall everything was well in this company. If you like being with kids this is the place to be.Sometime it might be hard because certain kids only speak one language so it might be hard to communicate with them.
Pros
One hour lunch break
Cons
Pays were delay

Could be better
Teacher Assistant (Former Employee) - Brooklyn, NY - July 27, 2022
Big company with different centers. Experience depends on where you are placed but definitely expect staff shortage all the time. The pay is mediocre. Also expect a lot of trainings and professional development days!
Pros
Hour breaks
Cons
Short staffed, management

Exhausting
Preschool Teacher Assistant (Current Employee) - Staten Island, NY - June 11, 2022
The only pros are the kids and a one hour break everything else is not worth it. Run the opposite direction! Horrible upper management, Lazy Employees, All about the money and how many kids they can get in. They’re even excepting children at the end of the school year (June) which is wrong. You get your paycheck 3 days AFTER the pay period ends and sometimes that ends up being more then 3 days if it’s a weekend. No explanation on why it takes an extra 3 days. Lead teachers calling out 2-3 a week and having to sub for them without getting the pay of a lead teacher. Just don’t bother!

It’s unfortunately a dictatorship. Too much work for the director so I quit When people are not available in the main office the director has to do the job.
Pros
The parents. Children. Teachers.
Cons
Low pay.

The children are great and the staff supports each other
Office Manager (Current Employee) - Brooklyn, NY - May 13, 2022
The most enjoyable part of the job is working with the kids. Creating positive memories for them and watching them learn / grow. Most of the staff are team players and help each other out when needed. Overall a good place to work if you like children, value education and want to grow in your career. Staff members are generally friendly, which creates a pleasant work environment.
Pros
work culture

What stands out for me about working here is helping the people in this community by providing excellent childcare services and support.
Director (Current Employee) - Flatbush, NY - May 9, 2022
A typical day in my school consists of welcoming the children into our building for a wonderful learning experience with dedicated educators. The children get an opportunity to enjoy physical activities such as Kinderdance and Yoga on a weekly basis. We are a family within the community. We support the parents and the parents support us.
Pros
Smiling faces of children and families.
Cons
Parking.

Management/main office is terrible
Teacher Assistant (Former Employee) - Brooklyn, NY - April 20, 2022
Besides the children, this job is terrible. The company is UNDERSTAFFED, there is a lack of community & pay is horrible ! You literally wait a week after the pay period to get payed & they ALWAYS mess up the amount owed. Don’t bother to even apply , nobody stays at this job. This company is super GREEDY FOR MONEY. They don’t care about health or sanitation.

Too much work for little pay
Office Manager (Former Employee) - Brooklyn, NY - February 26, 2022
Over time grew resentful of work culture, benefits, lack of support, and staff turnover in the centers are horrendous which would add more work for managers. No compensation. High expectations. Lack of office fairness and HR is unhelpful and only assists the program manager in complete bias. Company has great potential but there’s too many obstacles and people that prevent this from happening.
Pros
Small gestures of appreciation
Cons
No employee work support post COVID. No consideration to take time off.

Best Job I've Ever Had!
Bookkeeper (Current Employee) - Brooklyn, NY - November 15, 2021
I enjoy my job, the work environment, location, and my co-workers and upper management. BumblebeesRus has given me room to put my skills to good use and also really grow and expand them and rewarded me in the meantime. I have been given room to "own my position" and feel like I have something to offer the company while being supported and acknowledged for my contribution. My co-workers are also friends who help each other. Our manager meetings are an enjoyable time to visit with each other and share ideas and areas of need and feel like you are heard. I feel respected, needed, and appreciated.
Pros
Great work culture, considerate of your needs and input.
Cons
In need of more staff members to help carry the work load.

Professional and Supportive
Human Resource Coordinator (Current Employee) - 3611 14th Avenue, Brooklyn, NH - November 12, 2021
I’ve worked for the company for a few years and have a lot of good things to say. They try to create a family like atmosphere that listens and is inclusive. I’ve been able to grow professionally and have developed new skills. I’ve seen first hand the the children/students really do come first like the motto says. I would absolutely recommend a friend to work here.
Pros
Over 15 paid holiday days on top of benefits and PTO

Lots of opportunity for growth.
Teacher (Former Employee) - 2813 Farragut Road, Brooklyn, NY 11210 - November 12, 2021
The company genuinely cares about the children and the services they provide to the community. Coworkers are easy to work with and care in general. There are opportunities to earn more money if you are enrolled in school/continue education. The organization always seems to be growing which provides employment security.

Unorganized
Lead Preschool Teacher (Former Employee) - Brooklyn, NY - October 26, 2021
Working here feels like you’re all over the place in terms of what you need to be doing. They put you wherever even if you’re not comfortable. Very flexible schedule but that’s about the only positive.
Pros
Flexible Schedule
Cons
Staff Culture, Management

The children are the best part
Lead teacher/ infant-toddler director (Former Employee) - Brooklyn, NY - August 5, 2021
They take you for granted. They pay is not worth it. The daycares are dirty and management lies about everything. They don’t care about their employees.
