Don’t break your back for Burger King
The regular customers, and my fellow coworkers, feel like a family of sorts.
But food service is one of those bottom of the barrel jobs that many look down on, and easily become upset when their order isn’t given out in under 2 minutes(especially during a rush with screens full of orders for both front counter and drive thru—in which our location is often too short staffed to handle this properly). This job is highly stressful, and as an employee, the salary isn’t enough if you only had yourself to rely on to pay a $1000 a month rent. There is no worker’s comp. We can bust our butts to keep drive thru times down or deliver excellent service only to be rewarded with some socks or one single solitary free sandwich.
