Busy Bee Careers and Employment

About us
Busy Bees and Leapfrog Day Nurseries have made a huge splash this year with their healthy eating efforts and are now in with a chance of winning two awards at this year's Seafish Awards, organised by The Seafish Authority, which awards imagination and best practice across all areas of the seafood industry.

Busy Bees Nurseries have been shortlisted
 – more... for the 'The Best Seafood Fortnight Campaign' category, as well as receiving a nomination for their efforts to 'Encourage Children to Eat Seafood Regularly'. Some of the companies Busy Bees is up against include Asda, Morrisons and Manchester City Council.

Busy Bees have had a whale of a time demonstrating their commitment to healthy eating. Many of the nurseries have held regular seafood activities, including visits from Eatright UK chef and nutritionist Ady Delaney, who introduced the children to a large range of fish, from long legged lobsters to scary sharks! Other activities included Under the Sea displays, healthy eating discussions and fishy games.

The Seafish Awards 2009 will take place in May with a glamorous black tie gala evening of fine food, entertainment and the award presentations themselves, hosted by a celebrity compere!

Operations Director, Marg Randles, says "Busy Bees Nurseries have always elevated the importance of healthy eating, which is reflected in the nutritious meals the nurseries provide. We will continue in our commitment to provide healthy food to the children at Busy Bees."

The Busy Bees Group is committed to healthy eating, partnering up with celebrity chef Phil Vickery in 2008. The Michelin-starred chef, who is a regular on the BBC's Ready Steady Cook, was part of a major national healthy eating campaign by Busy Bees to improve healthy eating among young children. As part of the campaign, Phil worked with the nurseries' catering teams, and an expert on child nutrition, to devise a healthy new menu for the nurseries, to be rolled out nationwide. The new nursery recipes will be distributed free of charge to the parents of the children at the nurseries, and will be available to read and download on the Busy Bees website.

I enjoyed working there. My boss was wonderful and great to work for. I met a lot of new friendly people because we had a ton of regulars come in. I also enjoyed working with my other team members.
