Rarely the same thing every day. This job will keep you on your toes. Relationships- Both with clients and coworkers is great. PTO - 3 weeks of annual leave, floating holidays, and comp time provide ample time off for vacation! Management is stellar! They consistently check in to make sure you aren't overburdened, to see if you need more work, and to make sure you aren't underwater and have a good life/work balance....

CGI bought the company where I was (which I LOVED) and turned it into a NIGHTMARE

Poor leadership, poor benefits, poor pay, horrible bonus. Honestly - it's the worst place I have ever worked

Not a job for growth
SUPPORT ASSOCIATE LEVEL III (Former Employee) –  Houston, TXMarch 22, 2019
This job is better for a child fresh out of high school with no plans of going to college. You don't get raises so if you have a "price of living increase" cherish that money while it last. If you plan on growing, you might as well keep on scrolling. They don't care for their employees who has been with the company for 10 plus years, they treat those employees as if they don't exist. They should pay their employees way more for the work that is asked of them, plus you don't get any sick time and they will fire you if god forbid you get sick and go over the leave without pay which you have to use because you only accrue 2 hours every week. It takes 4 months to get a week of vacation and you have to use your PTO before you use the "LWOP" that is "GIVEN" to you. Don't expect a bonus no matter how hard you work, it doesn't matter.
Pros
Weekends off/ Paid Federal Holidays
Cons
Pto/ supervisors/ leave/ no raises/ no sick time/fake policies/ no vacations.

Passport Bookprint Production Supervisor (Former Employee) –  Tucson, AZMarch 19, 2019
Unpredictable hours and workload with scheduling of overtime that is suddenly canceled. Nine hour workdays for supervisors, with only pay for eight hours paid.
Pros
Minimal stress from management
Cons
Very strict government requirements

Excellent Place to Work
IT Site Lead (Current Employee) –  Fort Meade, MDMarch 15, 2019
CGI has been an exceptional employer. I started in a low level PCS position and through the encouragement of many great managers, was able to move into a project manager role, while being supported by management and my teams. CGI gave me the opportunity to get my PMP and GLSC to be able to slot into different roles and help me grow. The compensation and benefits are great and CGI really tries to breed a team environment across different BU's, divisions and team.

I loved working at CGI and wish I was still there. It was obvious to some that VP's were promoted to the wrong positions and it impacted projects they were on.

PSA (Current Employee) –  North Charleston, SCMarch 1, 2019
Job only good for people just starting in the work force, those trying to get into the federal side, and retirees looking for extra income. Not a place I could retire from. High turnovers, most look for something better while working here.

As long as you did the job they were fine with you. There really wasn't any room for advancement in certain positions. If you wanted to move up, you had to change locations or companies.

Company doesn't respect it's employees
Fraud Unit Support Associate (Current Employee) –  Portsmouth, NHFebruary 22, 2019
6 yrs without a review or wage increase. No respect or recognition for long term employees. Poor health insurance policies and annual bonuses. The job itself is enjoyable but the environment is tough because people are very upset with CGI for taking 8% of the night shift differential away.

Compensation Not Worth It
Processing Clerk at National Passport Center (Current Employee) –  Portsmouth, NHFebruary 18, 2019
The work itself is not bad and easy to meet numbers, but the pay for 2nd shift employees is not worth it to only make 30 cents more than 1st shift. Hard working employee who consistently makes goals every week but doesn't get anything for having great reviews and making numbers. Very difficult to move up and make more money.
Pros
Not stressful work

compensation, healthcare Cigna not good

Great consulting work if you are a legacy employee
Senior Manager (Former Employee) –  Los Angeles, CAFebruary 5, 2019
CGI is one of the best consulting firms to work for in terms of collaboration and approachability by leadership. Around 90% of US operations are in the government sector performing large scale enterprise software solutions. There is limited business in the private sector with little room to move out of one of the two or three key accounts. The other challenge is CGI has acquired most of its US operations. Employees that were a part of an acquisition have priority over new hires in terms of projects and work. While people that were not hired during an acquisition only have 3 weeks on the bench before they are let go, legacy employees have no requirements around being chargeable.
Pros
Culture, benefits, pay and people
Cons
limited learning growth

Flexible Work Environment
Senior Business Analyst (Current Employee) –  Fairfax, VAFebruary 1, 2019
Working at CGI provides the job security.

Growth becomes very stagnant. Benefits are bad and doesn't pay for any training annually. This makes the technical skills stagnant.

This is for the people who look for stability and flexibility. But after a while environment makes it hard for self motivation and skills improvement.
Pros
flexible work environment
Cons
No support for trainings

Great Federal Benefits
Consultant/ Jr. Project Manager (Former Employee) –  Cleveland, OHDecember 28, 2018
Great company to work for if you're looking for federal perks and a fair work-life balance but it is lacking when it comes to job security, training and fair compensation.
Pros
Typical federal perks and flexible work hours.
Cons
Healthcare is expensive, no job security or room for advancement with fair pay, no HR or upper Management on sites, growth is limited due to lacking training initiatives/mentor ship.

DIRECTOR, CONSULTING SERVICES (Current Employee) –  Fairfax, VADecember 6, 2018
The company is responsibly run but often a cultural and management difference amongst different projects/programs.

Responsibility to move around internally is placed on the employee, little to no help internally.
Pros
Trust the people here and that they will do the right thing for the client.
Cons
Benefits declining rapidly, including training opportunities
