Fun place to work if you live close
Customer Service Representative (Former Employee) - Gonzales, LA - November 30, 2023
Great place to work if you live close but don't get paid enough if you live farther than 30 min. After then gas is just too expensive to commute. Thats why I had to leave after I moved farther away.

Awful Workplace
Seasonal Sales Associate (Current Employee) - Missouri - November 16, 2023
Staff barely trains you and leaves you to yourself. Only get one weekend off a month and don't give you proper benefits for 90 days. Will be leaving as soon as I can

Fun workplace
Cash Lead (Former Employee) - East Hartford, CT - November 16, 2023
Most of the management team was good! The pay and often raises made it worth it. Most of the co workers are friendly. Downsides- seem to be stuck in your position. Some managers sucked

Overall good workplace
Sales Associate (Current Employee) - Cary, NC - November 13, 2023
Overall good workplace and good people. The job requires you to assist in more than just your own department, even though the job application is just one department only.

Good place
Warehouse Associate (Former Employee) - Lacey, WA - October 22, 2023
Was a good place to work at when I worked there. Nothing was hard about the job. As long as you can help customers even when in the warehouse you’d be fine.

Bad management and bad pay
Warhouse Associate (Current Employee) - Thornton, CO - October 15, 2023
Training is basically non existent. I often feel like I don’t have the tools and knowledge to complete my work. Hours have been cut drastically and the pay is terrible. Would only recommend as a retirement job.

Average
Cashier (Former Employee) - Columbus, OH - October 12, 2023
Very average retail position. Hiring process was quick and easy. Decent pay, laid back environment. You can get good discounts on major brands. Flexible scheduling

Fun
Firearms Sales Associate (Former Employee) - Kearney, NE - October 11, 2023
Good culture and environment, a lot of younger college aged coworkers. Management seems to change a good amount, it is still retail though so hours aren’t the best.

Fun with little reward
Sales Associate (Former Employee) - Huntsville, AL - September 29, 2023
Super fun job with a friendly environment! The only real downside is the pay is rather low (even for retail work). There are ways to supplement this by doing extra work and taking on multiple roles.

Worried about production and bonus
Manager (Former Employee) - Wheeling, WV - September 16, 2023
Long hours, especially during holiday peak season. Upper management worried about production and making a bonus. Not willing to work with other departments.

Easy work but a lot of hours
Outfitter (Current Employee) - Tooele, UT - September 13, 2023
The work is easy but there is a lot of overtime. I also wish the schedule was Monday-Friday. The management seems to come and go. Overall this is a good job but not a career

Good work but it gets repetitive fast
Warehouse Worker (Current Employee) - Prairie du Chien, WI - September 5, 2023
Your coworkers will quickly become friends however some of the leads and sypervisors can be hard to work with. This jobs have long hours either a 10 hr shift or a 12 hr one. You do not have the whole weekend off. Either working Sunday or Saturday.
Pros
Good benefits
Cons
Have to work either Saturday or Sunday

Is a good place to work
Backend Outfitter (Former Employee) - West Chester, OH - August 29, 2023
It is a good and fun place to work. Hours were not bad. Pay could always be better but it was in line for what you had to do. All the managers were great and good to work with
Pros
Managers tried to make it as fun as they could
Cons
could always pay better

Management doesn’t care about you.
Regardless of what department you’re in the management doesn’t care about you. You can be a star worker and give your all, but if they don’t like you as a person they will be shady and scummy. They’ll hire you if you’re disabled, then make you do work that you physically can’t do, then make fun of you for not being able to do it. The benefits are amazing, you can’t go wrong with that. But for your sanity I’d just apply at the Bass Pro Shop. GM and AGM are godsends though. Amazing people
Pros
Benefits, discounts
Cons
Management.

Human Resource Coordinator (Former Employee) - Bowling Green, KY - July 28, 2023
It can be. fun place to work but rules and policies change on. daily basis. They don’t pay long term employees what they are worth bring New people off the street making the same or more money than long term employees.
Pros

Cons

Horrible management
Warehouse Lead (Former Employee) - Tooele, UT - July 26, 2023
HR and upper management is a joke. The turn over rate is ridiculous because there is absolutely no work life balance. They force you to work upwards of 65+ hours a week November-January with no approved time off. Trying to move up with this company is hard. But you become pretty close with the people you work with because of the amount of hours you spend with them.

Fun workplace, got to play with expensive toys
Archery Technician (Former Employee) - Ringgold, GA - July 11, 2023
Cabela's had an employee discount, but the low pay of the job meant I couldn't actually use my discount. Archery Technicians, firearms, and anyone handling weaponry should've been paid more as they worked a more advanced job. Some of the bows and crossbows I worked on costed upwards $2000 and if I made a mistake it could've costed someone their life. That said... I took full advantage of the archery range, and got to learn more about things I enjoyed.
Pros
Discount, fun atmosphere, access to toys I couldn't afford
Cons
Low pay
