Feedmill manager for a 75000 head cattle feedyard (Former Employee) –  Ulysses, KSFebruary 1, 2018
This is probably the working environment I have ever worked in not counting our family owned business. The Manager at the facility I worked at was very professional, cared about all employees under him. Never lost his temper, resolved all issues.
Pros
Employee owned feedlots

Cactus Feeders
Network Technician II (Current Employee) –  Amarillo, TXNovember 14, 2017
Cactus Feeders is a company striving to innovate and compete with other markets for the leader of animal protein providers.

My role in the company was to provide support for the network infrastructure, provide communications support, provide web application and software support, deploy any and all necessary hardware to fulfill these tasks, and manage access to each of these systems globally.

The job is stressful because the company has recently grown exponentially, which would normally be a good thing except that they're not aggressively expanding their workforce to accommodate the large new support needs.

Management of the company is good in some areas and lacking understanding of the problems in others. Management tends to address symptoms of problems with quick fixes rather than addressing the problems at their source, which leads to much more work later to fix.

The hardest part of the job is trying to balance the new "high priority tasks" with the already existing high priority tasks as well as take care of the user support tickets turned in with lower priority through the system. Since each technician/administrator is responsible for tier 1-3 support in addition to any relevant maintenance, upkeep, research, and deployments there is little time to finish a task before another is pressed on the the employee to begin.

The most enjoyable part of the job is there is never down time. If you're a person who likes to stay busy to make the day go quickly, there's never a shortage of work or downtime at Cactus Feeders. The 10+ hour days go very quickly to a point

Good place to work, but management needs work
Feed Truck Driver (Former Employee) –  Hale Center, TXJanuary 3, 2016
Good place to work. Just show up, do your job, and stay away from management. They look for stuff to yell about. Management hires family members over others and you have to cover for the lazy sons.
Pros
Easy work
Cons
Management doesn't hold everyone to the same standards
