Huge Community Impact
Development Coordinator (Current Employee) - Hemet, CA - August 18, 2023
The work that CFLC is doing in their community is very impressive. I have seen firsthand how deeply connected they are with partners (private and governmental) and is in that sense, a household name in Riverside County. For over 40 years, they have innovated and added services to families in our area and helped bring millions of $/funds to our local cities. As an employee, any new ideas for growth/innovation I had were always welcomed. They value training and make sure we have the tools we need to be effective at our job.
Pros
A stable organization that is well diversified in its industry.
Cons
Depending on the position, you may wear many hats. Welcome to non-profit world!

A great place to work!
California Family Life Center is a great place to work. I feel valued, heard, and my work means something. Leadership is transparent and accessible at any time. CFLC has great medical benefits and 401(K). Best of all our work assist children and young adults, ages 0 to 24 trapped in hopelessness and despair become compassionate and contributing members of the community.

Understaffed and under paid
Direct Care Staff (Former Employee) - Hemet, CA - June 2, 2021
13.33 to have your life threatened regularly. Staff are not valued or treated with any authority. The expect an unreasonable amount of meeting attendance even for those working graveyards and living an hour away.

A lot of room for improvement
Direct Care Staff (Former Employee) - Hemet, CA - May 5, 2021
Management is unorganized and have zero regard for work outside of there. They preach about self care, but don’t give you time to do it. Staff is very catty and not welcoming at all. Having been there for so long, they get complacent, form cliques, and can’t stand to see someone else do their job better than them. When these issues are brought to management, the reply is “I know” and nothing is done.

Toxic work environment
Clinical therapist (Former Employee) - Hemet, CA - April 14, 2021
This place was a horrible place to work. Upper management were rude and demeaning. Clinical supervision was just a time to talk down to people. Treatment team meetings were a joke.
Pros
Nothing
Cons
Low pay, poor work environment, poor supervision, racism

A great step towards gaining experience in the field
Direct care staff (Former Employee) - Hemet, CA - May 12, 2020
The job is pretty much getting paid to be a parent. It’s great to be there for the kids, to build those relationships with them and to watch them grow. They are hard to love sometimes but the end in most cases is worth it. Management on all sides, however, is very unorganized. The staff in my case weren’t so welcoming in the beginning.

Great with flexibility but this company is the blockbuster of the 21st century.
This company doesn't adjust well to growth and expansion. This company lacks the leadership that understands business and the need for innovation that would streamline this company into the 21st century. Most individuals at this company that are in leadership roles lack higher education , thus stunt the growth of their workers that are seeking higher education. The need for new leadership is greatly shown through the treatment of their employees. This company is in need of a CFO, an unbiased Human Resource representative, and a complete new cluster of employees who haven't been tainted by CFLC's horrible organizational setting and workplace environment.
Pros
Flexibility
Cons
Horrible management, outdated system, poor training and poor communication

Great mission but management needs more training
Former employee (Former Employee) - Hemet, CA - July 26, 2018
Staff work hard to help the families and children of CFLC. Sometimes a little too hard with unreasonable time frames and excessive amounts of work. Staff can get overwhelmed but will receive no help.
Basically if you like helping people and like a stressful job than California Family Life Center is the place for you
Pros
Helping others
Cons
Stress, lack of communication and collaboration

this place is a good place to get into your first job if you are just getting out of highschool or trying to finish highschool.

Fun Activities and Events.
Client Services (Former Employee) - Hemet, CA - March 9, 2018
Over-All it is a good company. They care about their clients.
It is a stressful job as you are working with at-risk youth that have psychological and emotional issues.
I scheduled and transported the clients to their appointments.
Documented and wrote reports on behaviors.
Trained Staff and taught independent living skills to the clients.
Provided crisis intervention.
It taught me to work with multi-cultural youth and family's and community contacts.
It is a rewarding field of work. However, the company is undergoing a lot of changes in meeting new state regulations and Staff Support needs improvement. Salary is targeted to increase with new funding.
Pros
Get to attend great events with Clientele. Personal enrichment.
Cons
No lunch breaks. Stressful work.
