a seemingly great place to work from the outside.
Senior Executive Assistant (Former Employee) –  Folsom, CAMay 2, 2018
This company is not what it appears to be - you dont know that until you work there. I accepted a role at this company - tho I had several other offers - because I believed that it was a fair work environment. It is not. Executive Leaders are allowed to be abusive and nothing is done about it. That mentality prevents team-members to be tentative and not completely at ease while working. When you think you are doing an amazing job because you are told so and that is reflected in bonuses and atta girls and public laudatory comments and you get let go out of the blue because "you weren't a cultural fit" it puts a pretty bad taste in your mouth.

Great People, Focused Management
Senior Information Security Risk Analyst (Current Employee) –  Folsom, CASeptember 15, 2015
A focused lean not for profit that lives, eats, and breaths power system reliability. Determined to do more with the least possible resources comes with some consequences that upper management appears to understand and usually gets around to addressing, if you are very patient. The culture of the company is that of other utilities (telecom, transportation) I've worked in, sprinkled with a dose of government agency.

There is little career advancement opportunity, other than getting better sounding job titles. But the work is varied and there are many gaps (because of the lean nature of the organization) that can fill your "free time" and urges to learn, and you will often be recognized for taking those challenges on.
Pros
Steady Work, Nice People, Strong Mission
Cons
Limited Advancement

Goal-oriented workplace with a clear and focused mission
o Information Security Data Analyst (Former Employee) –  Folsom, CAJanuary 7, 2015
The work hours flexed with my personal life well. I learned a lot about office politics and the responsibilities of management regarding communication with employees. My co-workers were pleasant and I've never felt so accepted by a group of co-workers so quickly. The hardest part of the job was keeping up with management's expectations of work production, but the most enjoyable part of the job was fulfilling those expectations.
Pros
A wonderful cafeteria with high-quality, healthy, and affordable food
Cons
Management's communication regarding their problems with employees
