Plant hours differ greatly from corporate hours, so can't speak to that. But if you're a salaried, corporate employee, you'll be at your desk 40-50 hours a week (on average) and expected to respond to requests from managers via email in a timely fashion 24/7.

Very good/competitive medical, dental, vision, dental, 401K, stock options, etc. Like all companies, recent changes in government-mandated coverage levels (for medical) mean that Calpine now has to pay a "Cadillac" penalty because they offer generous medical benefits to employees, so employee costs have risen over the last 6-8 years.
