Commissioning Editor in Manhattan, NY

Cambridge is a great company to work for. Management is very supportive and the office culture is relaxed and friendly. Salary levels are a little low, but that all of ELT publishing. The US office, though, feels like its days are numbered. It was significantly downsized in 2015, and since then it seems like every new position or restaffing of a vacancy goes to the UK headquarters.

Place was virtually run by temp staff and they did an excellent job. Management knew less of how the department's worked than the temps that were running it. If management made a wrong decision and you dared to question it you would not be asked back, no matter how long you had worked there. Used to be a nice place to work, but definitely not now. Full time employees are treated totally different to temps. DISGRACEFUL!!!!

No complaints. Managers listen and provide feedback, and the work is both interesting and purposeful. Schedules are sometimes tight, but that's the nature of the beast these days.

I work there as a part time speaking examiner, so this jon does not support me and my family, however, it gives me the feels ng of belonging. It is very interesting and rewarding
