Administrative Assistant (Current Employee) – San Mateo, CA – July 1, 2018
The company's goal to provide services to those with mental and physical disabilities is carried out everyday. Directors oversee case management and a fully staffed medical clinic. I felt like there was a lot of transparency within the agency, but the low pay rate drove a lot of people to leave. The environment seemed like it was a transitional job for a lot of people. While everyone seemed to share the philanthropic nature of the job, the amount of stress was felt due to the demand of the clients that we were serving.
Flexible time schedule, transparency, comfortability and openness with my supervisors

There is not enough work nor is there work that is continuous. Plus you have to use your own vehicle to drive around to see clients. Sometimes you have to work nights or weekends. No room for advancement.

Caminar provides mental health services to those in need. They provide housing, case management, job placement and more. I think the management and training educate their staff and community about mental health issues.
opportunities for advancement, stable employment, experienced management, good benefits
FSP Case Manager (Former Employee) – Vallejo, CA – December 17, 2015
This is one of the most unethical, unprofessional companies I have ever worked for. They promote competition and mistrust between their employees and actually frown upon coworkers being friends. The clinical director is insecure and rules by fear. Bullying is encouraged and upward mobility is nonexistent. Do not work here if you have any self respect and are looking for job security because neither of these things are possible at this company.

MH is a tough field, so it's important to be surrounded by a great team of supportive and understanding people. Caminar truly sets the bar for MH services in the Bay Area. It was inspiring to be surrounded by people who put so much into their work. It makes the tough days a little easier knowing you're part of a team doing some real good in the community.
File Clerk (Former Employee) – San Mateo, CA – November 28, 2014
Caminar is a great place to work. A typical day at work includes working with doctors and nurses as well as interact with patients. Management was great, as well as the coworkers. The hardest part of the job was having to leave after my contract was over. It felt like a family. The most enjoyable part of the job was transforming their filing room which had not been updated in over 10 years and I received excellent reviews in organizing their filing room in a more accessible way.
