Hectic and unorganized
Guest Service Representative (Former Employee) - Lenox, MA - October 9, 2019
Management never really has any idea what they are doing. The entry level employees seem to know more. Department heads are very inteligent however, are somewhat rude to employees. There's always drama, ethical issues, and everyone is underpaid. Happy employees make for good service.
Pros
Beautiful facility, occasional free in house dining, staff cafeteria has great food at decent prices. Able to get services like guests.
Cons
Short breaks, unintelligent/unhelpful management, under paid, limited time off, inconsistent schedules, low discounts that seem to be getting smaller and smaller each year.

use of the facilities a benefit
Guest Service Representative (Former Employee) - Lenox, MA - January 14, 2018
We are able to use the gym and take classes, and are also provided access to health benefits for a reasonable cost.
Management is horrible. There are high expectations to perform and make money for the company, but they offer zero support and only want to make themselves look good. There are some really good people that work there but the management makes you dread going to work every day. They don't care about their employees and treat us like we are all replaceable. If you are paid hourly, you are lucky to get any overtime and the pay isn't that great for what they expect. If you are paid salary, be prepared to put in long hours with no compensation.
If you can deal with that, working with the clients can be very rewarding.
Pros
can take fitness classes
Cons
no sense of support from management

Decent place to work but understaffed
Guest Services Representative (Current Employee) - Tucson, AZ - October 11, 2017
The turnover rate here is very high, I didn't understand why until i worked here. The pay is low but the health benefits are fantastic and the discounts are also really great not that I ever get to take advantage of them.

Typical corporate company to work for. Had many benefits and everyone I worked with was great! Learned a lot about the hospitality industry working here too!

Guest Service Associate (Former Employee) - Miami, FL - February 11, 2015
Not a good place to work, limited benefits, overworked, not treated with respect and dignity. The guidelines and the culture seem to be perfect but management doesn't seem to live up to the company's core values.
Pros
good benefits
Cons
bad management

every structured and organized company
Guest relations attendant (Former Employee) - Las Vegas, NV - June 3, 2014
Very well organized company, greeted every customer, learned how to book appointments and be very organized and multi-task. The job was fairly easy. I enjoyed interacting with every guest ensuring they have the best possible experience at our spa.

Jobs at Canyon Ranch
Guest Service Agent positionsThey don't treat me well enough to make me want to stay.
Guest Services Representative (Current Employee) - Lenox, MA - September 8, 2013
A typical day involves doing most of the work, or fighting for things that the more senior employees always do. I'm expected to do what i'm told without any question. I feel like a minion, with no opinion or way to express how i feel. My manager has begged me on different occasions not to leave, because more people leave than they can keep hired. I have asked repeatedly to have the schedule i want, or at least for management to meet me halfway. My emails are never responded to, and i feel like they're just dancing around the issue. They dont feel like i deserve the hours, or have enough seniority to ask for what i want? I've been employed for 6 agonizing months of horrible shifts and a very stressful work environment. There's no way i'll go through another summer at Canyon Ranch. It sucked.
Pros
Access to the facility.
Cons
No time to enjoy the facility, Feeling like i live there, My schedule is what they feel like making it

Great atmosphere. Co workers participate with company activites
Guest Relations Advisor (Former Employee) - Las Vegas, NV - August 21, 2013
Each department in Canyon Ranch depends on each other to have a successful day. The therapist depend on the front desk, the front desk depends on spa treatments and vice versa. Teamwork was key! The management provided weekly trainings to keep the front desk updated on services and sales techniques. The most enjoyable part was that the staff had access to the spa and gym. Overall a great experience!
Pros
Access to the spa, gym, incentives, base pay+commission
Cons
lots of standing on your feet!
