Excellent management, fun atmosphere
Direct Marketing Representative, Team Leader (Former Employee) – Columbus, OH – January 22, 2018
Typical day at work was a group meeting discussing what went right for the people who sold well the previous day. Discussed that current days objectives, goals, routes, etc.
It was a door-to-door sales job so getting a sale was a pretty big deal. What I learned was that the more personable you are and the more you can discover common ground, the more likely a stranger is to open up their door to you to let them hear your pitch.
The culture at CBS was excellent. Everyone seemed to encourage each other when a sale was made. We were all involved in a group text and would "trash talk" others to try and provide some encouragement or a little pep. It was a great way to keep morale up and even worked to help push to get more sales,
The hardest part of the job is definitely being outdoors and having to trek through mud, rain, snow, or whatever Mother Nature threw at you. It's also very hard to knock on a stranger's door and try to get them to listen to you.
After I was promoted to Team Leader, I was in charge of picking my team which meant I was the one who had to conduct the interviews and assess if this person was right for the job or not. I was responsible for my team meeting sales goals along with myself. I very. much enjoyed being a Team Leader. I got very comfortable with the job and was doing so well at one point I was the #3 sales rep in the midwest.
Great team, wonderful boss
