I loved it there!

Featured review

Capital One selected this as a representative review
So sad i had to leave Capital one but this is by far the best company I’ve ever worked for. I have nothing bad to say about this company. From the day i became an employee they treated me like family every where i went. I work at the jrc location & the environment was different from what i was use to. Everyone was pretty cool most supervisors were helpful and the co workers was cool as also. When everything happened with COVID they were quick to respond. When things were in the media about BLM they were quick to respond in a positive understanding way. Love it. However If you are planning to work in collections please know you need to have patience and bring your A game to collect money.

Pros

Pto, Inclusiveness, Growth & Development

Cons

Very Strict Guidelines for performance

Not the best place to work

Not quite what I expected. Training was ok, but not much assistance was provided once you are on the floor. I was very dissatisfied with my supervisor she lacked knowledge and very dismissive.

Great People

Great people with opportunities to advance. Leadership is usually cognizant of time spent of projects and will help to control execrations for work. Long onboarding time though.

Solid place to work

Work life balance is great and team is understanding. Of course it's all up to your team placement but hr is willing to work with you as well to get a suitable placement for you.

Ok

It was a job, 3 bosses in 7 months, trying to be a tech company instead of a bank which is very odd. CEO had a 3 day, 18 hour virtual all-hands meetings and only talked tech.

Great benefits, hard job and work environment

The company takes care of its employees for sure - great benefits and incentives for employees. However, be prepared to be micromanaged and not able to take but a certain amount of bathroom breaks / time off the phone. Expectations are constantly changing with little notice and they expect immediate performance on brand new standards.

Was a great experience but i was never secure in my career position & they made me feel valued yet ultimately, i was never valued at all.

What is the best part of working at the company?the benefits were affordable & inclusive and the pay was decent. 'cost of living' raises came often as well as competitive wages. What is the most stressful part about working at the company?no actual job security!! agents are inexplicable expendable. managers are incredibly supportive on the surface, yet they will not have your back if in the event your job is on the line, w/o your prior knowledge or w/o you even knowing you were going against their policies/procedures. will terminate you for reason(s) you were never made aware of. makes you feel valued, but it is all a facade. manager will continuously tell you that you're performance is amazing & you are meeting goals/metrics even if you are making a mistake(s) that you never even knew was against their policy or code of conduct. will claim to conduct a through job performance "investigation" but w/ extreme bias, knowing they are going to fire you before even beginning said investigation. will give you no documentation or evidence of your wrong-doings. Capital One comes off as a great company to work for w/ it's vanity in benefits, pay, & support yet will "fake the funk" & railroad you in the end. even if you dispute termination w/ them, they will take their precious time to "look into" the dispute & they'll give you no room to actually fight for your position & will inform you to try back again after 3yrs to simply apply to see if the termination can be overturned w/ no guarantee of getting a non-rehirable status overturned. i recommend employment w/ this company only if -

Productive, work life balance, great benefits

I’ve been here for 10 years and no complaints! Ability to buy an extra week of PTO on an already abundant PTO balance. Ability to move and get promoted within the company.

It was okay...

Grew at lot at first, however this location became an HR nightmare. Couldn't trust anyone. You needed to be a favorite of leadership to move forward or upward.
