Assessments are performed in clients' homes to give their long term care insurance an accurate picture of their functional and medical status.
Field nurse (Current Employee) –  Waltham, MAOctober 22, 2018
Care Scout provides accurate information about clients. They give immediate feedback after an assessment is sent to them for review. I receive payment within 2 weeks after the assessment is completed. This is done independently in the home so I do not interact with other employees. The hardest part of the job is faxing the assessment in to the reviewer due to the limited resources available to me. The most enjoyable part of the job is meeting new people and hearing their stories.
Pros
Independent schedule
Cons
Faxing reports

fast pace independent working environment
Care Coordination Specialist (Current Employee) –  Waltham, MAOctober 30, 2017
Carescout can be a good job over all if the management can harness the responsibility of equalizing the work load and holding people accountable for their short comings. It is nice to work in an environment where you can be very independent and own and manage your own workload., but this can be detrimental to some who can not handle the pace,
Management needs to be mindful of this and either coach to the missteps, or weed out the weak links.
The management styles are very inconsistent.
There is very little acknowledgement for going above and beyond, or just excelling at your job.
Carescout could be a great place to work if these areas are addressed, and developed.

working independently

decline in management and accountability

Assessment of clients allows nursing to set up appt. per their schedule. Pleasant staff to work with. Sometimes there are multiple assessments per week and other times they are scarce,

Pleasant job for extra income
Field Scout Nurse (Current Employee) –  Waltham, MASeptember 11, 2017
Position is on a contract basis, visiting clients in their home to do an assessment for long-term care insurance. It is very pleasant and non-stressful.
Pros
Can pick and choose cases, very pleasant and non-stressful work
Cons
Most opportunities require traveling long distances; often get short-changed on mileage, though a phone call usually results in fixing the issue

independent contract nurse work
Assessment Specialist/RN, Independent Contractor (Former Employee) –  Waltham, MAJuly 26, 2017
this is a great job for those who need flexibility. I worked here while attending graduate school for extra income and it worked well for me. The down side is that there are no benefits, no guarantees of work and the referrals come in spurts. You only get referrals for clients on a very infrequent basis. It is independent contract work, which means you get no benefits, no guarantees of work, no paid time off, nothing but a per client visit rate of about $95, with an occasional mileage reimbursement for further jobs.
Pros
excellent work schedule flexibility, good extra income, easy work
Cons
no benefits, no guarantees for work, infrequent jobs.

Stay away
Customer services (Former Employee) –  WalthamJuly 27, 2015
Everyone is over worked to the point of mental breakdown. Management has no idea how to manage company. Nothing is confidential. Even in Hr. Lots of favoritism and gossip. Very unprofessional atmosphere. Worse than highschool. pay is not sufficient to amount of work assigned. Lots of pressure to preform better and get work done but is impossible because there is just not enough manpower.
Pros
Zero
Cons
no time to breathe

Not a wise career choice
Provider Relations (Former Employee) –  Waltham, MAJanuary 29, 2014
This place is VERY unstable as far as career potential. Everyone on each team is looking elsewhere and Managers don't do anything to improve the conditions. Managers called themselves "team leaders" but yet didn't have any experience with managing people. The culture was lacking in any type of leadership skills and it was clear. Favoritism was so bad it was uncomfortable.
Pros
Friends and building location is central to Boston
Cons
Management not qualified to lead
