Training is very lacking and get lost in the corporate culture
Convergence Technician (Current Employee) –  Exeter, RINovember 12, 2018
For a support role, training is non existent. You pretty much have to figure things out yourself and are found out about the latest deployments when something breaks.

Convergence Specialist (Former Employee) –  Exeter, RIOctober 17, 2018
Carousel is a good place to start a career, but that is all. Unless you start in your desired position, you will not get there unless you theaten to quit, or quit and come back. Pain points would be upper management, and no growth. Outsourcing is used very heavily, instead of hiring more in courtry talent, out of country resoures are used. I do not think "All IT companies do it" should be the norm. Positives would be free fruit and occasional free lunch.
Pros
Free lunch/ fruit
Cons
Management, growth, Outsourcing

Poor management. Employees are treated poorly. Business run by greed. Little to no training. You are just a number. All they care about is getting a customer's money not customer service.

Fruit?

Maybe fine as a stepping stone. Career... not so much
Sales Engineer (Former Employee) –  Washington, DCAugust 7, 2018
Carousel is yet another one of the sales driven, rather than engineering-driven, integration providers. Companies like this never value what is really important, it's always just about the money.

Unfortunately, it takes real talent to run a successful integration company, everyone's job overlaps at least a little with everyone else.
When you just focus on sales, you lose good talent- and bit by bit the system crumbles.

Eventually, when it becomes crunch time and management really needs to lead to keep the company together, the company either flounders or is sold off.

I suspect that is what will happen to Carousel.

Data Solutions Engineer (Former Employee) –  Bay Area, CAJuly 29, 2018
I was hired to build a team for Northern California Region. This region was neglected when I took on the position and slowly made into a profit region. Developed relationship with Vendors, brought onboard named accounts and developed a pipeline.

Service Delivery Manager (Current Employee) –  Exeter, RIJuly 2, 2018
Many roles are/can be remote. Mgmt is sales first and culture last. Relationship with clients is often strained due to low skill sets and low staffing.

HQ is clean, free coffee, free fruit, nature trail on site as well. Company needs to revamp their processes.

Always on call it was not a 40hr per week job to many projects not enough hours to charge the project too. It always came down to profit and commission numbers.

No career advancement, no benefits and no money!
Convergence Specialist (Current Employee) –  RemoteJune 9, 2018
Been with Carousel a couple of years. I like working remotely and the flexibility it gives you. However, it's very frustrating when it comes to training because there is none. Compensation sucks, healthcare insurance out of pocket costs are horrendous and they will not give you any structured process to advance. Biggest frustration is that in the employment ads, social media and in their company wide internal communications, they make claims which are flat out untrue. Currently looking for a new position with a more ethical company that is not trying to outsource my job to India.
Pros
Remote office
Cons
Low compensation, expensive healthcare, no advancement, no training

They can't be focused and support all the things that they and while it is a great idea in concept. They don't pull it off and they don't give you time to spend the energy to be successful.

Chaotic and stressful, high pressure with little support
Convergence Engineer (Former Employee) –  Exeter, RIMay 1, 2018
Constantly breaks work assignment process and over0subscribes engineers. Uninvolved management only at the technical director level - no collaboration or communication with the team apart from sporadic group-wide IM's about unassigned tickets in the queue. High-end tech, but no training. You are literally on your own with no management support.
Pros
cutting edge tech, work-from-home arrangement is above par, good benefits
Cons
poor management, subpar medical benefits, odd location for HQ

Pros

Cons
accontability, internal knowledge of job duties in company, easy miscommunication if not careful, not possible to meet deadlines given
