If you like money, it will flow your way along with mandatory IT.
The employee scholar program is generous and one can study any field at an accreddited institution. The offering of benefits is not worth much at Carrier Indy, however, when those offering make it diffcult by requiring so many weeks of such long hours.
The health benefits seem ok. I don't subscribe as I have health coverage from a former employer with a REAL union.
401k and matching is good.
Discount on buying a Furnace we fabricate exists, but it is very restrictive and a bit difgicukt to use. The company doesn't tell you what the discount is when you fill out paperwork, but they do include all restrictions. Only employee, no family. Select companies too purchase and install.
Average amount of Holidays
Employees are required ti use vacation to cover the time off when company stops production for inventory, basically closing for a week with only trades and a few select workers still in plant
I despise it. "Going to worhk each day is an apprpriate wording of the question as the mandatory 60 hr weeks, back to back, are just that. It doesn't soeak well.for a company when an employee has to take a vacation day to be off on a weekend or face penalties
Our warehouse got closed and relocated. and our jobs were terminated.
Work is manageable and not taxing. No one is overburdened . It is the continual 6 days a week.
The bathrooms, though are few and far between and often water is gound in pools on floor.
I have been in manufacturing for 40 years, numerous companies, large and small. These are by far the worst restrooms I have encountered.
Pay is decent. However one gets the feeling that Carrier believes that they then own you and the union seems not to care.
Afternoon differential pay amounts to less than 1%. Afternon shift ,on weekends when 8 hr days are sometimes worked has their shift starting time moved up 2 1/2 hours. Day shift gets off 2 hrs early . Sometimes notification of change from 10 to 8 hr day and change of start time is less that 24 hrs.
Improve business so there's more opportunities for people who want to grow with the company.
Once you apply does not take long to get hired need to be able to pass background and drug test
Why did i feel i was best for the job.
Here at Carrier Indy a floor worker gets10 hour days.5, 6 in a row with little option . Vacation is required to get off on a "day off".
Mngmt complains about the high percentage of workers using Family Leave, F.M.L.A. but can't seem to connect it to the long week of long days, and their are no rules for how long mngmt can make OT mandatory
I have no hesitation to tell people I work at Carrier and even less hesitation to express my disdain for how people on the manufacturing floor are treated
Raises are given annually
