Incredible resources for the youths, terrible work environment
Youth Development Specialist (Angels Cottage) (Former Employee) –  Camarillo, CAAugust 31, 2017
The youths are absolutely NOT held accountable for their actions. Casa Pacifica houses some of the highest youth offenders in the entire state of California (Level 14), yet there is ZERO accountability for the actions of the youths other than increased medications and therapy. There are no real-life consequences to be had, the management puts pressure on the staff NOT to contact or report repeated assaults on staff by youths.
Pros
Great benefits
Cons
Terrible support of staff, zero accountability for poor behaviors by youths

A Great Place To Get Some Experience
Youth Development Specialist (Former Employee) –  Camarillo, CAApril 17, 2017
Casa Pacifica is a great start-up place to get some good experience. It is my belief that if you can thrive at Casa, you can thrive anywhere. The most enjoyable part of the job was experiencing reimbursements with youth for their first time. Example; a youth putting his feet in the water for the first time ever! Moments like that you can't take away. Unfortunately, like any privatized organization, the hardest part of the job was watching the priority of beds being filled and the safety of direct care staff overwrite the therapeutic milieu that direct care staff was doing their best to establish. In the end, I believe Casa Pacifica does NOT hold true to their mission statement and it's unfortunate for the dedicated front line employees as well as the youth of Casa Pacifica.
Pros
Experiencing Youth Reimbursements, Great Direct Care Staff
Cons
Upper Management, Stressful Environment, Convoluted Incident Report Workflow

Working at Casa Pacifica was very life changing for me. I loved helping the children who were in need. But helping these children can take a huge toll on you. Its not an easy job at all, but a fufilling one. It will teach you about yourself and about the foster care system in general.

Casa Pacifica was an extremely rewarding employment oppurtunity. Helping kids has always been a passion of mine and this job provided a good atmosphere and possibility to do so.
