Most of the job depends on your manager and their ability to advocate for the little people. Decisions are made by higher ups who have either never worked directly with clients or haven't for a long time. It's hard to not feel like your work is pointless... you have to celebrate every tiny victory.

No one else will unless it involves increasing - more ... profit. Which is ironic as Cascadia is a non profit. That said not every boss is majorly concerned about the bottom line.
