A stressful environment with no help from manager and low staffed because the way they treated you

Indeed Featured review

The most useful review selected by Indeed
No morning meetings, no communication not very enjoyable after a while. Worked hard to get treated poorly and manager was nice one day and a complete different person the next. Did not learn anything new I'd already worked housekeeping at a hotel but it was easier work here but not the best place to work housekeeping.

Pros

Cheap lunch cards and sometimes they didn't even sign it so more of the punch card to use

Cons

Not enough or long enough breaks lunch flew by, it was scarf your food down and get back to work

Very overwhelming and an overall horrible place to work!!

What is the best part of working at the company?Nothing. It was horrible!! I was treated like garbage and I was a very hard worker! I got let go for something that was not my fault and I was told I did a no call/no show when I requested a day off when I got hired on. What is the most stressful part about working at the company?Everything! The staff and management!!What is the work environment and culture like at the company?Horrible! They treat their employees like they are expendable and that they do not matter!!What is a typical day like for you at the company?Having nothing you need to get the job done. No briefs, wash cloths, towels, sheets or chucks.

If consistency could be found in nursing leadership it would be even better.

What is the best part of working at the company? The people, residents and new administrator. What is the most stressful part about working at the company? The ownership being so very out of touch with the community. What is the work environment and culture like at the company? The lack of attending work by the current generation in nursing is pitiful. Whose kids are they? Quiet with the occasional neurotic supervisor.

What is the best part of working at the company?I get left alone. My hours are very flexible. What is the most stressful part about working at the company? Our administrator is a bit naive about compliance laws and tends to panic easily. What is the work environment and culture like at the company? For the most part very relaxed. As long as firm boundaries are set. What is a typical day like for you at the company?I go in, do my job, leave at 3:30-4:00. And I never answer the phone after hours.

The new administrator will destroy it

In four years four administrators, five directors of nursing, six assistant directors of nursing, four human resources directors, four maintenance directors, three housekeeping supervisor’s. Come, enjoy our consistency! Let us take care of your loved ones.

Pros

Across the street from North, America’s largest wooden strip mall

Worked here almost 7 months

I really hope the new management helps. But it feels like they have took a step back. It’s definitely different. I for one hope the future is bright!

What is the best part of working at the company?Help feed the residents here. The down fall the do not follow through with your 90 day raise period. I've been here for months waiting on them to give out my raise that was promised before I started here. What is the most stressful part about working at the company?Getting everything done in a timely manner when management don't like to follow that with the schedule and your raise you earned while working. What is the work environment and culture like at the company? There good times and bad times. Mandatory meeting that you forget about there's no reminder the day it is so you can make it on time there's only an after effect where you get told "get it together it's Wyoming winter get here on time" so obviously your personal life doesn't matter too much as long as you get there no matter if your vehicle is gone dead you get to pay a cab to get to work. What is a typical day like for you at the company?Cooking and cleaning and prepping for the following day or days unless your schedule changes then its to serve the residents clean and wash dishes

Horrible!

No supplies, management turnover is horrible. Other staff is not helpful for the most part. No orientation, just thrown in to working. 1 day with someone else as training. Talked a big story at interview, hire on the spot. Full time is a rotating schedule. Most health care full time is 36 hours (3 12 hour shifts), CMR is 40 hours to get benefits. Not what is advertised on job posting.

Pros

Pay

Cons

Everything else

Toxic, understaffed

Management is very poor in most departments. It is a very toxic working environment most of the time, and understaffed daily. I feel bad for the residents not receiving the care and attention that they deserve and need.

Pros

Being able to leave on time.

Cons

Understaffed and poor management.

Lack of knowledge

The checks are never right like $300 to $400 off new people are forgotten to be put in the system to get paid. THEY PAY YOU BONUSES WITH GIFT CARDS! or make promises and never fallow through

Teamwork

Everyone has their role from management all the way down the ladder and we all listen to each other on how we as a team can improve. Team work is a huge thing even in different departments because one department couldn't do it without the other.

Pros

Fun staff and residents

Cons

Full Moons making people cranky is a real thing.

Room for improvement

The interview was done by the new HR person which was “thrown into the position a month prior”. The interview was very unprofessional. We were interrupted several times by random people. The interviewer, while I was talking, would talk to others, get up to go to the door, etc. The whole interview and intake process was all over the place and unclear. There never seems to be enough staff to provide quality of care for all residents. Most of the nurses are rude and unwilling to help when in a bind. They just keep requesting vitals while you’re behind because you don’t have enough staff in order to help with hoyers. Most of the equipment doesn’t work 90% of the time.

Pros

Pay

Cons

Everything else

Good management and great wages

This is the highest paying CNA, RN, and LPN job in town. PRN is currently paying $18.00 for CNA’s. I have the best coworkers. The team and management are so helpful. The residents are wonderful and such a job to be around. This is the best job I’ve ever had! I encourage any CNA looking for a job to come here and join our team!
