Great coworkers and clients; lousy corporate management and no raises/advancement whatsoever
Written by Direct Care Counselor (Former Employee) from Pacific Grove, CA on June 11, 2018
I really loved working at Castlewood and it really helped me grow as a person and practitioner. I met many great people and got to work closely alongside therapists, which was exciting and informative. Unfortunately the company handles its finances poorly, which causes many problems for line level employees. Most notably there are no raises. After 2 - more... years a round of raises was finally discussed and I was awarded one, but I was laid off before it kicked in. In fact I declined a promotion because it did not come with a raise either, despite being a change to salary (working as much as 60 hrs/wk ... - less
ProsMeals and snacks included, quality coworkers (until they leave), great direct supervisors, if in California a bonus hour of pay for not getting a meal break
ConsLow pay, no possibility of a raise even with a promotion, clumsy and dispassionate corporate management, low job security, management does not factor in the lunch compensation hour into your pay for purposes like severance
