Disorganized & management is clueless
Warehouse Associate (Current Employee) - Atlanta, GA - September 29, 2023
I wish I could say something nice about this company. The management team SUCKS at Caterpillar(Atl) they don’t care about the employees, the safety of the employees & gives zero f**ks about the employee’s personal property. We’ve had multiple Covid cases & they keep hush about all of them, the turn over rate is ridiculous & the pay is just as worse
Pros
None
Cons
They work you like a SLAVE!!

Not terrible, not great. I liked my job, but for what I was paid, I felt like the work load was a bit high .
Metal Treat Specialist (Current Employee) - East Peoria, IL - September 28, 2023
Management was decent and helpful. The other regular employees, however, were rude and spiteful, especially if you were doing everything exactly according to the rules. They like to cut corners.
Pros
Ok money, depending on which area you work in, and Management was super helpful
Cons
Short breaks, hard work

Great Money - Terrible Management
CNC Operator (Current Employee) - Pontiac, IL - September 26, 2023
Amazing starting pay for this area. Hate the politics of the Union, but they’re cool people. Management sucks really badly. One week you have one manager that is willing to work with you, then the next you have a complete jerk.

Lots of down time
Assembler (Current Employee) - Griffin, GA - September 25, 2023
Pay is decent, no time for family or anything else for that matter, schedule is supposed to be 4 days & 10 hours but they work you 6 days, they really don’t care about there people as much adds they should, managers and higher up could be a lot better, other then that they work I do is fun.

Good benefits
Warehouse Associate (Current Employee) - Lafayette, IN - September 22, 2023
If you’re looking for a job with great benefits and a lot of overtime this is the place to be! There’s opportunity to grow as long as you put in the work.

Constant turn over. Terrible wages. Favoritism exists within the warehouse
12 hour shifts. Learned nothing. Management has favorites. Workplace culture is fine. Lack of training made the job hard. You can't promote unless you are a boot licker.
Pros
3 days on / 4 days on for regular associates
Cons
Terrible compensation. High turn over. Favoritism.

High turnover, keep looking if you can, but if not. They are hiring anyone with any type of background.
Assembler (Former Employee) - Pulaski County, AR - September 20, 2023
What is the best part of working at the company? Rather your voice be heard or not. You do gets a chance to express your opinion. What is the most stressful part about working at the company? Not knowing what time you will be getting off work. What is the work environment and culture like at the company? No motivation. About 80% of the employees are complaining about something. It is an inside air conditioner building. Still gets hot cause of the air isnt cooling off the building correctly. What is a typical day like for you at the company? Gets along with everyone. Doing my work. Im ready to go home as soon as i step inside the building really.

Jobs at Caterpillar
Horrible place to be run away
Warehouse Team Lead (Current Employee) - Victoria, TX - September 20, 2023
There is just so much wrong here. The pay is horrible. You get no benefits or vacation or sick time until they roll you over, which they are currently not rolling anyone over to full time, and when they do decide to do it you can be on the waiting list for up to 3 years. Your experience does not matter. You can be an amazing worker and they will still promote family within. Just run away honestly.
Pros
Nothing
Cons
No benefits, short lunches, not enough pay, you more than likely will not be moved up.

Nope. Nope. Nope.
Material Handler/Forklift Operator (Former Employee) - Decatur, IL - September 20, 2023
Constant drama unlike anything I’ve dealt with. Would go back to working at a prison over this job and it has nothing to do with work or the people on the floors. Company will back management and sweep everything else under the rug.
Pros
Pays okay. Overtime for those who want it.
Cons
Forced overtime. 20 min lunch. No smoking except lunch. More restrictions than working at a prison

Old Fashioned
HR Manager (Former Employee) - Remote - September 19, 2023
The company focuses on people only as much as they have to. They are old fashioned when it comes to people practices, ways of working, and employee empowerment. Being a "good leader" has nothing to do with how you manage your people, only about how you manage up.

Hectic place to be overworked
Product Assembler (Former Employee) - Sanford, NC - September 19, 2023
Don’t work here. This company will have u working like it’s life or death all day because they are always behind on orders & then you get 10 minutes to take a long walk to the break room to sit for 4.68 seconds then crawl back and work at the same speed for more hours then your itsy bitsy lunch break comes, your lucky if you can even touch the microwaves, just bring a cold sandwich or buy some chips or you’ll starve if you don’t suffocate from the paint in the air first buddy.

Terrible place to work
Assembly Technician (Current Employee) - Corinth, MS - September 19, 2023
Poor management and no home work balance. You see coworker’s more than your family. If company sends you home early you are pointed for it. And don’t count on getting raise every year. The one thing you can count on is working 12hr days 6 days a week

Headaches
Diesel Mechanic (Former Employee) - Pasco, WA - September 18, 2023
Was on the gen team. Boss was not professional and ended up leaving after a year. Boss also got fired after I left. Other than that the rest of the bosses were ok to work with and they were good with teaching you in other fields around the shop

Thankless place to work
Warehouse Associate (Current Employee) - Victoria, TX - September 17, 2023
Minimal .20 raise yearly. Few chances to advance unless you KNOW the right people. People treated as just warm bodies with zero consideration for personal lives. Reduction of OT means the same amount of work is expected in fewer hours.
Cons
You are only a REPLACEABLE body to them

Fast Pace
Material Handler/Forklift Operator (Former Employee) - Morton, IL - September 16, 2023
Picking orders is fast pace job but doable once you get the hang of the antiquated computer system and it's quirks. Mostly good helpful co-workers. Do your job and you get left alone.

Could Be A Great Place To Work, With Better Management…
CNC Machinist (Current Employee) - Decatur, IL - September 13, 2023
Management Can Be Very Counterproductive, The Work Environment Leaves A Lot To Be Desired, Benefits Are Above Average But (Red Tape) Makes Some Difficult To Acquire When Needed…
Pros
Pay, Benefits
Cons
