I enjoyed being able to give back to the community in the volunteer position; which, was also an internship for my degree.

Wonderful coworkers. Christian based ethics. Culture of caring. Stressful job emotionally but rewards outweigh the stress. Patients and families are so appreciative and make the job so worth going to each day!

As a long standing practicing Catholic I witnessed elder abuse reported it and was shoved under the carpet. It is all smoke and mirrors. Management is non existent, I was told to stay in my lane.
Admission Nurse and Preceptor in Overland Park, KS 66212
on January 9, 2019
My day was determined by my drive to succeed. I had a difficult time adjusting to some personalities, but overall I overcame the problems with others. I loved doing admissions, but my favorite part was encouraging other nurses with positivity and humor. My personal issues with others were respected by my HR, and they made it much more pleasant to work with those who were bullies. My inspiration came daily after sharing a prayer with others. Every day was a challenge, and I love that kind of excitement. Management sometimes lacked reaching out to everyone and communication was an issue. I felt ownership for myself and those who worked with me. This was nothing like any hospice I had worked for. Most employees enjoyed the teamwork and fellowship of our wins and our losses, The workplace culture was what you decided it should be. The hardest part of my job was the initial bullying. The most enjoyable part of the job was mentoring and encouraging others. How many times can you say, "I love the people I am privileged to work with and those I work for"? Even after I left, I was so sad and my fellow workers would call and check on me. I missed working with them, but the respect was so much more. If I acquire the position(s) that I am applying for, I swear on my heart, I will be a service based leader, I know the job, I want the opportunity to show others what they have inside of them that makes them valuable as a team member.
Registered Nurse in Overland Park, KS

Hard work with constant calls from office, family members and staff at facilities. Management calls frequently to have nurses take on more and more responsibilities. Hardest part is patients death. Most enjoyable part is getting to know patients. Poor raises for everyone in hospice.
