The process changed with the hiring freeze. It originally took 4 weeks or more now it's two months . This puts stress on staff patients and community .
I forgot to say, blood work is required. Now I was a hired chemist, and I cant think of ONE REASON WHY a company needs your blood profile. Drug testing is urine, etc. TB test is skin. The ONLY reason I can think ANY company would take your blood is to descriminate against genetic maladies you may have, ie the gene for breast cancer, etc. so they can "see into your future health" and refuse to hure you based on what they fear you will cost them in insurance and disability benefits later on. Refuse the test, and see how far you get. Maybe they dont do it anymore, ive since quit, bc CHI is strange.
The hiring process borders on discrimination. You have to go through a rigorous health check. You have to disclose EVERY ache and pain, EVERY physical AND mental malady, all your medications, past illnesses, everything. Even just to mop the floors. You can have a perfect background check, but the physical check is still mandatory. They also put you through a gammut of physical exercises to see if you can lift such and such etc. In my whole life ive never encountered such a thing. I passed my physical, but if youve got a disability of any type...they won't hire you, then theyll use the reason, "didnt meet job requirements." But the job requirements are written so that only the physically best will get hired. LOTS of ADA laws being broken, and I confronted them about it, but who's going to investigate them? They WILL NOT provide accommodations for ANYONE! Its really not the place you want to work. Until youre desperate. Then food on the table wins. But if you have marketability...look elsewhere
