Worked salary as a store manager I believe they have changed this policy now but 45-60 hours a week and only getting paid for 40 @ less then 10.00/hr sent me running for the hills.

The inconsistent hours for part times is what really got me: 7 hours one week and 14 the next. Also, lists of changes to the schedules at the last min. People would see the schedule, then decide they did not want to work a certain day due to a heavy shipment coming in but instead of saying, “I’m lazy and don’t want to work in a difficult afternoon,” they would call in sick, or suddenly their Bana would become ill, etc. Thrn others are “called in”. The pay is lousy anyway, but it’s even worse if you take into consideration that you are basically being treated as an “on call” employee at times. Also, work load is extremely high. Done part timers get away with murder in stores without cameras. They stay on their cell phones on the floor often and do not do any work to help. My work ethic and values are different so I worked. But I constantly felt taken advantage of. Add to that the fact that some lazy employees attempt to justify their lack of work by toying with and making fun of those of us who do work, and you see the problem. You either become a rat and run tell on people constantly ( which creates more issues and management does nothing anyway ) or you just grit your teeth and do your job. Eventually, you have no more teeth to grit.
