It’s good and bad
Hostess (Former Employee) –  Selma, CAMay 31, 2019
Initially the management team was fair and very well organized as well as skilled at handling rough guests. Most recently, management has drastically changed along with the quality of work. Now the management team today has its “favorites” that unfairly select employees to move up to better positions rather than those who have actually been there for quite a while and have better experience.
Sometimes the management works well with employees under certain circumstances, other times they don’t.
Hours are given to those who are also on the favorites list as well as the “easier shifts.”
If you’re into drama, this place has plenty of it with the management involved too. But most employees get along with each other for the most part until jealousy or tension arises.
Sometimes it’s difficult to get hired here unless you personally know someone and of course if you know one of the “favorites” you’re pretty much guaranteed a position.
Some trainers have even proved to be subpar to company standards, such as training a new employee while sick or hungover.
Overall most employees are easy to get along with while some have questionable traits.
Perhaps the worst thing is not being able to lounge in the bar due to your own employment status. You’re only allowed to dine anywhere else except the bar. Disappointing if you just want to grab a few drinks.
Pros
Employee discounts, free salads and bread.
Cons
Not enough hours

Busser (Current Employee) –  Dixon, CAJanuary 9, 2019
As a busser you are expected to keep the restaurant moving through reservations at an unrealistic pace. Always compensated for how hard you work through tips from servers. Good place to make quick money

Beverage Manager/Bartender (Former Employee) –  Fort Worth, TXDecember 13, 2018
Cattlemens has been in the historic stockyards of Fort Worth since the early 1940's. It has a classic theme with broilers for the cooking of the prime beef in each dining room with lots of nostalgia.

Fast pace. Always busy with good service
Busser (Former Employee) –  Dixon, CAOctober 19, 2018
I learned a lot about food serving, taking orders and following directions. Always pay attention to your customers. Their needs come first. When a co-worker is not doing their job correctly, it is important to help them.
Pros
Always busy. Good hours.
Cons
Some people don't want to do their fair share of the work.

Poor management makes it painful to work there
SERVER (Former Employee) –  Dixon, CAAugust 30, 2018
The managers are clueless on how to properly do their jobs. The only way you can make good money there is if you are a "favorite" or if you flirt with the general manager. It's disgusting.

Server/Cocktail Runner/ Banquet Bartender (Former Employee) –  Livermore, CAJuly 3, 2018
Busy restaurant with secret shoppers and steps of service. Excellent customer base but employees can be very clique. Be prepared to work hard and meet multiple timing steps while being postive.

Great Place!
Waitress/Hostess/Cashier (Former Employee) –  Mack, COJuly 2, 2018
Cattlemen's was a great place to work at. They are a small family owned business where the owners are in daily. They are very relaxed and flexible. As a waitress the lunch time rush can sometimes be busy and stressful, but most of the time its very manageable. The manager and owner are always willing to jump in and help when needed.
Pros
One to two free meals while on the clock.

Classic Old School Steakhouse
Captain Waiter (Former Employee) –  Fort Worth, TXMay 30, 2018
This is a classic old school steakhouse that does things the right way. This is one of the few "mom and pop" restaurants that is still around. The people are nice and friendly. If you enjoy working in a restaurant that is not corporate owned then this is one of the best.

Really great place to work
Server (Former Employee) –  Roseville, CAMay 12, 2018
Luckily, I worked with my friends. Most restaurant staff, especially servers end up forming a "family" like bond which makes coming to work a little easier. It's a very fast-paced environment, and a lot of extra steps servers must do in order to succeed. If you do your job correctly and have good numbers, Cattlemen's becomes a cake walk and usually results in really good money.
Pros
Good money, flexible schedule

Dishwasher
Dishwasher (Former Employee) –  Rocklin, CAFebruary 2, 2018
Working at Cattlemens was great but it could use better management and better treatment. You really couldn’t go to any manager because either their too busy or they just don’t want to deal with the problem. They shown favoritism and their wasn’t enough growth , Overall it was an okay experience but teamwork and better management would definitely be recommended.
Cons
No matter how hard you work they still overlook you
