Merged with Marvell
Senior Engineer (Current Employee) –  San Jose, CAAugust 6, 2018
Cavium has merged with Marvell. The long-term results of this merge probably won't be visible for a year from the merge. In the short term, Marvell has acquired some inefficient and unethical management along with the good managers available. Hopefully Marvell with adjust this issue within a year. Unfortunately, the poor managers laid off a number of excellent employees who had the misfortune to stand up for the company or for themselves in a difficult working environment. It is yet to be seen if Marvell can accurately pick out the good management from the poor management. Cavium employees, in general, are amazing and wonderful to work with despite the pockets of poor management.
Pros
Amazing employees
Cons
Pockets of poor and unethical managers

Nice people.
Senior Design Engineer Consultant (Current Employee) –  CaliforniaJuly 10, 2017
I was doing RTL design at Cavium, as a contractor. I went through two managers in the time I was there, but both were fine to work with. The Cavium facilities are nice, and they have a good on-site cafeteria.
