You're typical widget factory
this environment is what you see on TV when they want to portray and vanilla, cookie-cutter office environment. You go, you work, they meet you every once in a while to "develop your career", you get paid. you go home. Drinking the Kool-Aid is annoying but no different than anywhere else.
close your eyes and imagine Office Space. you will have all of the same conversations. You will have 5 managers ask you the same thing without talking to each other (correction, they talk to each other, just not about what they asked you). the product is harmless and serves the community. there is no shame in working there.
adopt a culture to advance those who want to advance
Not everyone wants to be a manager, so how do you advance that career??
