Way too many hours
Everything basically (Former Employee) –  CharlotteOctober 4, 2018
They tell you 4 ten hour shifts to get you in the door then you work 5 ten hour days or 5 12 hour days but never less than 50 hours a wee, very very small raises once a year, management feels the need to stand over everyone all the time, very stressful when your working like a dog already, everyone wants you to do they're job for them while they laugh and talk, too much favoritism, the attendance policy blows, you can basically only be off 9 says a year, 4 of which you can call in sick without getting in trouble they expect perfect attendance, heaven forbid you have a family or children, you will have no home life forget taking care of your house you will basically only sleep there, forget having a relationship no one will put up with the hours you work because you will not have time for them so forget about them you will only hurt yourself more trying to date or have a family, you can't take vacations because you either have to reserve room too late or take too little of days which most places refuse to give you a room for the small amount of days ccl allows you to have a life.
Pros
Job security because they can't find anyone to put up with this place
Cons
Too many, short breaks, little pay raises, management makes you feel like prisoners, no home life, long hours, stress stress stress, read my review

Press Helper (Current Employee) –  Charlotte, NCFebruary 28, 2018
The lies about a four day work week, four ten hr days turn into five 12 hour days at a whims notice.pay raises are decided by a tyrant that only see's what he wants to see. Way too much favoritism in the plant.like a secret society.if you are in need of a pay check go here if not please try someplace else.
Pros
unsure, pay check i guess!
Cons
long long hours, no home life, not much sleep, very small raises.

high stress job with hardly any raises from year to year
press operator (Current Employee) –  Charlotte, NCJune 6, 2016
In the last several years they have brought too many people with engineering degrees and hardly knowledge of running a printing press. But yet they tell us what to do and it usually turns into more problems. Have over 10 managers that create a very negative work experience. Makes it unbearable to be there most days.
Pros
paid lunch break
Cons
negative working enviroment with pocket change raises every year

Manager (Current Employee) –  Charlotte, NCApril 4, 2016
I've been with CCL for a few years now and I cannot forsee myself leaving anytime soon. With the exception of 1 or 2, management is great. The employees are motivated and well trained. Lots of wonderful processes and procedures in place to make things flow smoothly.
Pros
Employees, lean, gain share
Cons
some management, raises

Nearly Recession proof, Very good benefits.
Front End Emploee (Current Employee) –  Charlotte, NCSeptember 10, 2015
The industry is almost entirely recession proof. Job stability is very high. Compensation is adequate but not competitive if you are looking for longtime career. Pay/Salary increases are hard to come by. Annual increases do not usually meet the cost of living increase.

Most of the staff is easy to talk to and get along with. However, most people keep to themselves and there does not seem to be a team atmosphere. Morale is lower than it should be.

Management is very good financially. This company is very strong!
Pros
Quarterly Lunches, Cookouts, Free Flu shots, Gifts.
Cons
Salary & Payscale, morale

Comment – October 1, 2016

Stress has increased significantly. Politics and maneuvering for better position and advantages drive the office culture. Leadership is interested in cutting waste and the bottom line. Sadly this leads to fewer raises and wage increases. Work/life balance is all but gone. If you want to get paid well and what your value is, negotiate your terms before you get hired and get it in writing.

Top of the line state of the art equipment
Flexographic Press Operator (Former Employee) –  Charlotte, NC.October 10, 2014
Feeling as part of the company and being included in decision making is a great feeling. Working together as a team goes a long way in accomplishing the task at hand. Co-workers getting along to achieve the same goal is what makes all the difference.
Pros
Working with engineers to have a better understanding of the equipment.
Cons
No smoking environment on or off the property.
