Very busy for low pay
Veterinary Technician (Former Employee) –  Fresno, CAMarch 29, 2019
It is a very busy hospital so that comes with a lot of stress the plus side is you do get to go hands on things the bad part is there is no proper training due to the busy schedule. No structure what so ever, to many new techs that do not know much, very fast paced, very low compensation with no raises.
Pros
Good people
Cons
Low pay, to be stressed out

Great place for education and experience in the field. Very hands on. Multiple shifts available. Open on weekends. This hospital is very busy and will keep you busy.

Poor Management
Veterinary Assistant (Former Employee) –  Fresno, CAAugust 2, 2018
Not a place to stay for years and years, no committed advancement, once you've been slightly advanced, be certain that you will be put back down to where you started. If you perform greater than your superiors, know for sure that you will be knocked down and your flaws will be shown to everyone. Management strives to hurt your self-esteem, lack of just saying "good job" when you go beyond the call of duty.
Best advice - find a practice that will appreciate you and what you have to offer. Never think of yourself as below-average.

fast paced and stressful job
Veterinary assistant/Receptionist (Former Employee) –  Fresno, CAAugust 22, 2017
work long, stressful hours with hardly any breaks on a busy day which is pretty much every day. the job is rewarding in itself but the employees are over worked and under paid and physical and mental health is not managed well by employer or management.

Great work experience for students majoring in veterinary science
Veterinary Assistant/Receptionist/Office Manager (Former Employee) –  Moscow, IDJanuary 29, 2017
I loved that this company was so small and the veterinarians made me feel like "part of the family" as soon as I came to work. This hospital gives students majoring in veterinary science great experience and is very flexible with student schedules. Students get hands-on experience with the animals as well as gaining experience with clients/customer service. I also loved the ability to work directly with the veterinarians and they were always willing to teach us something new!

Short Time Employment
Veterinary Technician (Former Employee) –  Fresno, CAJuly 10, 2014
When i worked there, It was only for a short time. All the employees were nice to work with and I learned a lot from all of them. I got to do some surgical procedures I never thought I would ever get a chance to do.

Wasnt happy
Veterinary Technician (Former Employee) –  Fresno, CAAugust 27, 2013
Had some good times and some bad, felt like the bad times outweighed some of the good times. The techs that were hired with experience were great but then all of a sudden there were too many new techs with no experience and not enough knowledgeable techs to help and teach. Became to demanding in the end.
