NOC Enginer (Former Employee) – San Francisco, CA – September 4, 2018
This organization could benefit from utilizing modern day technology. I once heard the COO state that they tried VOIP, but it was a unproven technology. Maybe for CENIC, but VOIP has proven itself to be the bread and butter of a true enterprise.
Not much, non-profits pay slightly better than the minimum wage.
NOC Manager (Former Employee) – La Mirada, CA – April 10, 2018
This is a non-profit, so there motivations for running their business is different and tied completely to academia. Some extreme micromanagement is probably one of the worst issues, but again, overall not a bad place and very friendly environment/staff.
Focused, small business feel
Too many homegrown tools, micromanagement, slow paced (unless you like that)
Network Operations Center Intern (Former Employee) – La Mirada, CA – April 26, 2017
It was a good and friendly place to work at, however I believe management can give more attention to their interns or new employees so that they are able to understand the company's roles and learn better.
