Would not recommend.
Technician (Current Employee) –  Springfield, MOJuly 17, 2019
Management in Springfield, MO is a joke. Parts department offers outrageous parts markup to their customers and service repairs are done whether truck needs repaired or not just to keep revenue coming in door...

Losers and weak management
Field Service Generator Technician (Former Employee) –  St. Louis, MONovember 21, 2018
Disrespectful and worst place I have ever worked. They hired Young Techs out of UTI that felt they new more and knew nothing. Young techs lied and Management believed them and would not fire them. Treated older field service technicians as if we owed the younger people something. Since the WW Williams People took over this place has really gone to pots. Don't work here HR sucks and has no respect for themselves or others.

Big problems in management
Engine Teardown Specialist (Former Employee) –  Liberty, MONovember 10, 2018
Typical workday is not bad, mostly assembly line work conditions outside of truck shop. Coworkers were great to work with, most days were relaxed and generally easy to get through. The problems come in with middle management. Department supervisors up to branch managers are at a disconnect with the people under them. Require contract at hire but do not uphold their end (no pay raise, established hours are not the same) Middle management expects total devotion to job over everything else in life, requiring overtime and weekend work with less than a days notice. Overall decent pay and work environment, just don't expect any favors from the top and don't attempt any plans outside of work.
Pros
Decent pay, great people on work floor
Cons
Middle management severely out of touch with employees

Busy truck shop, with friendly employees overtime wasn't encouraged.
Generator Technician (Former Employee) –  Springfield, MOOctober 20, 2018
Very busy workplace, friendly crew, clean truckshop. Well equipped workplace, however, personal tooling requirements were cost prohibitive, training was poor, and the work area was extremely warm in the summer. The Generator rental side of the business was poorly equipped. Many components were in very poor mechanical condition. I enjoyed performing deliveries, setup, and testing at remote locations, but had to purchase tools for both the service truck I was assigned, and my truck repair bay in the main shop.

Poor Management, owner is always gone playing.
Manager/Supervisor (Current Employee) –  Liberty, MOSeptember 20, 2018
Poor pay unless you are one of the ww williams boys, and they get paid for not knowing. Free insurance is a joke. New employees come in making more than the 20 year Women. IT director is a strange one.
Pros
A few good people left
Cons
Never know when your last day is. I have seen plenty walked out.

This place is on it's way up. You can tell that there is a ton of growth and things are moving in the right direction. Pay is great across the board and there are a lot of opportunities for internal growth. If you are looking for a rewarding career then this is the place to work.

Great place to work most of the time, they pay for schooling on there equipment. Although they have you work on stuff in shop and field that you may not be comfortable with. Says 8-5 for hours but if it’s busy expect to be out later no pay raise yet.
Pros
Payed training
Cons
Take on to much work majority of time.

Groing company, got some real good people.
Sales / Office (Current Employee) –  Liberty, MOFebruary 24, 2018
I've been with the company for a while. A new ownership structure happened about 2 years ago. Really was a nice improvement. Ownership is very approachable. Especially the CEO. He seems like a good guy with a heart. They WILL expect you to pull your weight. If you want a slacker job you might want to look elsewhere. But it seems if you are honest, friendly, work hard, try hard and help others they'll notice you in a good way.

Pay seems pretty competitive. Health insurance for a single person is awesome. Family coverage is probably closer to average. PTO is good. Also, If you are a vet you get veterans day off with pay. Everyone else has to work. That's fair!

In the last few years I've seen good people get taken care of and some not so good people leave one way or another. That's fine. They like to promote from within when they can. That's a plus. Company sure seems to be growing and doing some new things.

I've made some great friends at Central that I love like family. If you work hard, do your job, have a sense of humor, and don't take yourself too seriously, you'll be right at home here!

Look, every company is run by people and people aren't perfect. But I feel like this company is trying hard to build a great workplace that knows how to take care of customers. I'd recommend it to a friend. It's fun to be a part of something growing and improving and know you have a hand in making it happen.
Pros
Good ownership, positive improvement, right direction
Cons
I can't think of anything serious

Great Work Environment & Management Team!
Marketing Manager (Current Employee) –  Liberty, MOFebruary 23, 2018
Great work environment! The employees are friendly and make coming to work and collaborating on projects enjoyable. The management team is laid back, easily approachable, and always open to suggestions; which is often times hard to come by. The work is challenging and steady, but not overwhelming. As long as you are coming to work and putting effort into your job, it's clear that you will succeed here!
Pros
Supportive Management, Great Benefits, Fun Work Environment

Truck Technician/Field Service (Former Employee) –  Great Bend, KSAugust 29, 2017
This place puts you on 24 hour on call duty after you make it past the first 60 days. They do not provide any training for you to handle after hours calls with customers. They just give you a cell phone and expect you to figure out all the rest. DO NOT GO TO WORK HERE!

Receptionist (Current Employee) –  Liberty, MOJuly 10, 2017
Typical day at work range from crazy busy to relax and steady, management is a great set of people, and we are all working hard to make a stable structure work environment for everyone.

I love the sense of "work family" and even in my small role I feel like I am appreciated and make a difference. As a family I feel that we are all working together to make a stronger family unit; Constantly changing and adapting to ultimately make a stronger better company for my own future as well as the companies.

If you think "change is bad" this is not the company for you. One of the most exciting things is contributing to changes being made and seeing the long term effects that your ideas make on the company as a whole. One person really can make a difference.
Pros
adaptable, flexible, and balanced

Good company to start out
Generator technician (Current Employee) –  St. Louis, MOMay 28, 2017
The company seems to be willing to hire younger less experienced members. At the st. louis branch, I did not feel that the environment was based around keeping people for the long term. The st. louis branch is one of the newer central power branches and they have been trying to become established for a while. There have been a lot of new management changes which made things less enjoyable for myself. There work flow can be a little slow at times, but they have been trying to find more work. The lack of good leadership at the branch causes problems and it has pushed a few good employees out of the door. The liberty Missouri branch of central power is very successful and very well run, I would not say central power is a bad company, but the st louis branch definitely needs some more work.
Pros
40 hours a week minumum
Cons
401k is not very good, bad leadership, lack of training, lack of tooling

Always on call, no raises, ownership is always looking over you
Equipment Sales Specialist (Former Employee) –  Liberty, MOMay 26, 2017
Equipment Rental:
You are always on call, even holidays. If you have to go into the shop after hours you do not get extra pay. You have to threaten to leave to get a raise. Ownership is constantly emailing you on rental numbers. Equipment is mostly outdated so they break down alot which customers complain about. Vehicle allowance is a joke, doesn't cover your payments and they never increase it. The department is in trouble there, stay away unless you want to be treated without respect.
Pros
Fuel card
Cons
Always on call, age of equipment
