Typical day is driving for 9-11 hours then 3-4 hours of dock work. Management is terrible or non-existent Best part about the job is the pay is good for the work you do (when they pay you) Payroll is a mess so if you do work here monitor your checks closely
Pros
Good pay
Cons
Terrible organization, bad management, payroll issues constantly, poor technology (very behind other companies)

Over all I’ve made some great friends here
Dock Worker/Forklift Operator (Current Employee) - 601 Johnson Rd - August 30, 2023
A typical work day if you’re the Monday - through Friday crew if you come in after 8:30am there won’t be a forklift available to use until after 1:30pm! You’re normally unload and load trailers throughout your shift. Sometimes the freight may fall over during transit. Yes you may have to fix that pallet and hand wrap it again. Management is poor just be prepared, it’s better to ask coworkers for help/training then management. Having forklift experience is great if you don’t have experience, training is provided for that. The most enjoyable part of the job is honestly the coworkers, that’s what get you through the shift honestly. Good Luck!
Pros
You’re expected to work 10 but you can work more hours if that’s for you.
Cons
Only one 30 min break for 10hrs + of work, communication is poor, work/life balance can be hard, If your’re a dock worker forklifts are limited its hard to clok in when theres no lifts, short on equipment, work overload, Over time is after 55hrs, poor equipment

Terrible place to work
City driver (Former Employee) - Peoria, IL - August 25, 2023
I got hired on and it was a complete nightmare! Showed up the first week everyday to get sent home because the printer was down. I didn’t think anything of it and showed up the following Monday. Finally got to fill my paper work out. I just obtained my cdl and I am fresh out of school. They promised to train me the first week in the terminal. I was supposed to learn to back up and get trained on the forklift. Well yeah that never happen. They instead sent me out driving with not being able to back up very well. Then after had to unload all of the stuff in my trailer without knowing what to do. Not a big deal, but when you’re getting training pay which is a certain amount a day and working very long hours they’re just simply taking advantage of you! My trainer was very quiet and hard to understand. Also couldn’t stay off his phone all day. He seemed to disappear a lot and tried his hardest to get out of working the docks. Much more, but I hope you get the idea.
Pros
Nothing
Cons
Not a very good place to work if you’re freshly out of school

Good pay, everyone is chill.
Forklift Operator/Material Handler (Former Employee) - Walbridge, OH - August 25, 2023
Get on forklift load and unload freight. The end of the night clean up trailers. Charge Forklifts, re-stack trailers. Just help out drivers. Stack their trailers correctly.
Pros
Chill environment, independent
Cons
Pay is based on first to last scan.

Lack of job security
Terminal (Former Employee) - Indiana - July 17, 2023
Higher ups make sure you know that you are replaceable. I wouldn`t work here again, couldn`t pay me enough to do it again. Joke company. Management practice is worthless, company is going down the drain. Potential sell out
Pros
None
Cons

Bad management, no vacation
Mechanic (Former Employee) - Santa Fe Springs, CA - July 17, 2023
Really bad management who let their positions get to them, your work is never enough & are never appreciated even when you go beyond, sometimes even doubt you as a mechanic when explaining what an issue is. You get 2 vacation days a year and 3 sick days that automatically get taken off if you call off for whatever reason. Mechanics typically last 2-3 months here
Pros
Pay is fair
Cons
Bad management, poor benifits and vacation

Great employee however run very poorly
Line Haul Driver (Former Employee) - Dallas, TX - June 24, 2023
The 2000.00 per week ad is very misleading. A lime haul driver can work 12-14 hours per day and barley gross 1600.00 per week. The company utilizes “trip pay” to mask that you are only earning .54 to .55 cents per mile (industry standard is .69+). The employees and managers are great people however are severely micromanaged by corporate. Central is a revolving door when it comes to drivers.
Pros
Great employees
Cons
Poorly managed, low pay compared to the LTL industry, very bad trailers.

Great Paying Company. No time outside of work during the week except weekends.
Operations Supervisor (Current Employee) - Tennessee - June 14, 2023
Upper Management is very controlling it’s their way or the Highway. Expect 50-60 hours a week. You are paid very well but also no overtime for hourly’s u til after 50 hours. Company doesn’t not invest into equipment. You can make a little less money and work half as hard. If you don’t mind hard work and long days and no free time this is the place for you.
Pros
Compensation
Cons
Work Life Balance. Management

Pros

Cons
No OT pay until after 55 hours a week.

Very long hours as a salary employee
Operations Supervisor (Former Employee) - Kansas City - June 10, 2023
15 hour Saturdays are not discussed in interviews . They do not drug test employees so your stuck dealing with the bottom of the barrel dock workers , the micromanagement from corporate is ridiculous . They fire who they want when they want and expect you to cover their duties for half a year. You want a job that takes you away from your family for 60+ hours a week and only pay you for 50 then this is the place for you you want a job with terrible benefits that are over priced then this is your place . Want a job where you get no support from anyone above you then here you go.
Pros
None
Cons
Benefits hours and ownership

Stay away!
Truck Driver Class A (Former Employee) - Vandalia, OH - April 13, 2023
Worked here for 2 days, ( that they never paid me for) seen everything I needed to see. Their trailers shouldn’t even be allowed to leave their yard! Management is a joke. And if you need anything you have to call “line haul “ and sit on hold. No one in the office can give you any answers. Once you’re hired they just ignore you. Stay away!

This is not a career company
Forklift Operator/Material Handler (Current Employee) - Vandalia, OH - March 18, 2023
pay is relatively high for entry level positions for a reason you are not valued u are replaceable u are there to do a job and go home that's it. very poor work life balance and upper management is among the worst i have ever seen lower leads and supervisors are for the most part great and understand how the company is. the work is easy sit down forklift. hours are hard but its a good place to get some experience save some money but defiantly not a long term job
Pros
Good pay. easy work. not sure if its a pro they don't drug test
Cons
No overtime intill 55 hrs, poor work life balance. bad management, very high turnover rate
