Great Place to work

Indeed Featured review

The most useful review selected by Indeed
The working environment was great, except that the location of the college was not strategic, and the enrollment number was below the minimum to break even. The management has to eventually close down the school.

Sales experience, paying close to detail

Worked here for 2 years and it’s a good job for a year for sales experience but not a forever career. Get in good with management or work there for 10+ years and you can move campus to campus and still hold employment

Pros

Not incredibly difficult job

Cons

Management, advancement in career

Horrible place to work

If you do not agree with upper management you are doomed for failure. Extremely toxic and hostile work environment. Not a place for real leaders but a great place for puppets who can not think for themselves. They just want bodies to do as they say.

Inconsistent

I enjoyed my students and many of the employees, but the supervision personnel were inconsistent in their terms. Many things that are said are changed to benefit the supervisor’s standpoint. Accusations are thrown at you regarding you actions at work without being given a chance to explain the full situation. The attitude of my direct supervisor was degrading and childish at times.

it was a mess

All i can say about working here was it was an utter mess. From all the way down, to all the way up in management. It's a stepping stone at best. Or you'll be in a management position suffocating those below you.

Pros

Meet people

Cons

Everything else

Not Stable, Stressful and no advancement.

High turnover rate, expensive insurance, you sign a non compete & they will say anything to a student to fill a seat for a program & meet a number, no integrity or morale. Very exhausting chasing students.

Pros

Coworkers

Cons

High turnover, fake and rude attitudes from management. Not worth it to be belittled.

Good place to work if your top priority is not salary.

The pay rate is in line with other types of teachers. This makes it difficult to hire and retain good instructors. It's great to be able to inspire students to become excellent technicians.

Helping improve a student outcome is the greatest reward!

In every company you see good and bad! Centura has a culture, you either fit in or you don’t !Every department within the company has an issue and it will never be resolved because of budget. Working at this location reminds me of the factory oversea where the children works for less then quarters.Under staff , under paid and overworked!

Messy ,run bad for your mental

They only care about numbers not the students. The work schedule is all over the place the DOA is bipolar and the CED is slow. Very high turnover rate you have to make at least 120 calls a day send text and email. You will be micromanaged!

Pros

Helping students

Cons

Management is a joke

Home office management is a mess

Where I worked, the on campus directors were great, However, the home office is clueless as to anything that actually goes on at the campus level and treats on campus staff like they are beneath them. Instead of firing people who are bad for the company, they just move them to another campus to make them someone else’s problem, and usually promote them. Employees are not taken seriously when coming forward with complaints or issues and instead, targeted. Also, with minimum wage at $15, the pay is no where near what it should be for these positions.

Small office space

The students are extremely excited to get new careers started...At This college they only care about enrolling students and rushing them through the enrollment process without explanation. Students don't understand what they are truly signing up for.

Pros

You have your own work space.

Cons

Not alot on Training when you are hired.

Great and rewarding work. Life and work balance is wrought.

Great college and instructors for the electrical and wind industries. Also offering carpentry and construction certifications. Taught by industry professionals.

Pros

Great working environment

Cons

Long hours, usually 8am to 9pm with a 2 to 3 hour break mid-day

The employees and students are great! Such rewarding work! Changing lives one student at a time! Work life balance is encouraged! Professional development is encouraged and paid for. Tuition reimbursement program is competitive.

Pros

Cons

None

Terrible. Steer clear.

Terrible. Steer clear! The director barely came to work, didn't stay the entire work day when he did, and when there were issues or conflicts, he basically let us sort them out ourselves. Minimal raises, if you got one at all. Little incentive for doing a good job. Turn around! Don't drown! Run, don't walk!

Too much work for hours set in place and pay

The staff there are wonderful and all work together well. The expectations of the job are too much. Poor planning is blamed on instructors, as is students not caring to show up or to complete what they (as adults) have signed up for.

Pros

Pleasant Campus Executive Director and Staff

Cons

Too much work and lack of organization

Too many politics

They train and develop their favorites and the regionals are snakes. They will use you until there is nothing left to give. Good people are gone because of the disconnect from campus level to regional.

Pros

People at the campus are decent

Cons

Dont pay enough for the headache

Ok job

The job was ok I really loved what I was doing. Management and work environment could’ve been better. Training was done very poorly so I was confused in the beginning.

Okay

I enjoyed my coworkers, and how much they cared about the students success. I was able to grow within the company and go from Receptionist to Administrative Assistant.

Run for the hills!!!

........wow, what can I say? This is a good stop by passing job, not a career move. The management is back stabbing vultures and you can't trust a thing being said to you. I've worked here for several years on and off. Its just gotten worse as the years go by! Run while you can!

Pros

Short hours

Cons

Management with big heads and no talent!
