Physician (Current Employee) – Sterling, IL – April 18, 2019
Rural hospital, where every local physician is in training to be the CEO,treat outside providers with disdain just to compensate for inadequacies both clinically and otherwise. Very medieval style of administration......Unhappy atmosphere. Sweat shop workload...... Blackmail is rampant,to re-negotiate your salary downwards or violate your 13th amendment.
Registered Nurse (Former Employee) – Sterling, IL – August 14, 2019
I used to really enjoy working at CGH. We had a warm, family environment with our co-workers and management that lead to great teamwork and patient care. There was a big change in administration and management recently and that positive vibe is 100% gone. I went from feeling valued and cared about as an employee to being just a number on their schedule. Staff was told on multiple occasions “if you don’t like it, leave”.... so they are. Almost all of the great “seasoned” nurses I worked with are gone leaving hardly any competent staff left. Babies are training babies and I was seeing mistake after mistake being made before I left. Safe patient to nurse ratio is a thing of the past. Thinking about talking to the manager? She won’t even know your name and it will be like talking to a wall. Toxic environment and you’re constantly being put in unsafe situations and management will not have your back.
Provider (Former Employee) – Sterling – August 13, 2019
Very Incompetent management. Bigoted and prejudiced management style.... There is no administration, more like a waiting in-line Mafia succession...... Your basic rights will be trampled by supervisor in an effort to please "administration"........ Nurses and doctors are abused alike........worse from "not from the area" providers. People quit regularly.....nurses and doctors also fired every quarter. The longest staff are the administrative staff.....Go figure!!! They pretend to be nice during the hiring process....do not be fooled......
