Great place to work. It has everything any one should want out of a job. My reason for leaving was because of a family issue, that required me to be home at nights. I was offered a day position but could not accept do to family needs. I wish I could go back

The most horrible experience I’ve ever encountered, lack of leadership with management poor employee relations

Chabot Las Positas Manager and director maintenance and operations, and HR department lack the skills and training in Promoting a positive safe work environment. Supervisors are harassed by employees making it hard to function as an employee and execute your daily assignment and HR does nothing

Very disorganized and very stressful environment...

Company should ensure that their budget is in order before hiring new people. Very disorganized and very stressful environment. There is no clearly defined process for anything and the company is not willing to look outside the box and adapt to new processes and embrace change. The company has good benefits but very expensive PPO coverage . Vacation and sick leave is typically available after 1 year probationary period, which is almost unheard of in the industry. Many employees and managers are not honest. They smile when they interact with you but talk bad about each and every person behind everyone's back. Others are willing to put coworkers under the bus and try to stand out at the expense of others.

Pros

Benefits and educational opportunities

Cons

Frequent funding shortages and 1 year probation

Productive and fun place to work.

Nice place to work, friendly co-workers. Company should ensure that their budget is in order before hiring. More safety meetings should be held, also disciplinary actions should be enforced a little more.

Pros

free food

Cons

short breaks

Loved working for the school system. I learned a lot there.

I worked a total of 11 years at this place, learned a lot; went from clerk to an instructional aide, and graduated from college while working there,

Excellent company to gain knowledge about Community College Finance and Business Aspects.

Excellent person to person training on job function. Very structured organization. You have the freedom to give ideas to enhance process. There are many departments that depend upon each other to effectively serve the community through education. The hardest part of the job was unexpected changes to the process in mid-stream (you had to be very flexible on short notice). I enjoyed learning new concepts and procedures.l

Pros

Benefits and educational opportunities

Cons

Frequent funding shortages closed previously open positions.

A excellent community college.

Chabot and Las Positas Colleges are state of the art learning facilities where students come first.
