Overall great place, with some great people. Small company, so comes with all the challenges any smaller company comes with. A non-profit has its challenges, however, Charitybuzz is a FOR PROFIT that helps non-profits; this comes with its own challenges as well.

Work and life balance is great

My day to day responsibilities are making cash applications and processing refunds via Admin. Collection efforts by combining retrieve funds or invoicing charities. Making sure that the A/R aging balances with the G/L. I learned how to file sales tax on a monthly and quarterly basis for NY, CA, MA, and OH. I also learned how to cut check for A/P. Management is a bit biais. Overall no recognition for hard work. The hardest part of the job is having to wait for auctions to close in order to retrieve funds for refunds. The most enjoyable part of the job is the culture and the laid back dress code.

Pros

Lunches 1st Monday of every month

Cons

The company does not match 401K contributions

Productive, however little to no room for advancement

Management is only interested in resolving long term issues when there are fires. Although it is a great place to start building skills & relationships, the company culture and career advancement is non-existent.

Pros

Free lunches every first Monday of the month.

Cons

Health care & retirement options.

limited advancement potential unless...

unless you come from a small town in Connecticut your advancement potential is limited. Family nepotism is alive and well at charitybuzz.

Pros

friday lunches

Cons

nepotism screaming matches

A lot of nepotism

While you can build a department based on your expertise, you will not be able to meet your expectations due to the staff's overestimation of your particular job duties and functions.

Pros

Free lunches

Cons

A culture of not respecting the staff
