Vice President - Financial Consultant in Bethesda, MD

Schwab is all about advocating for clients, which is a wonderful thing. That said, it is very difficult to succeed in the role as a new Financial Consultant. The only way to get paid is to have new assets come in or to convert a client in to managed money, appropriate or not.

Great company and values but the management is awful and a lot of miscommunication. Schwab implemented return to office after promising remote workers they could move away from centers but took back on their word. Awful.

While it can be a lot to handle with volume, they do their best to reward good work and efforts. Overtime is offered, great health and retirement benefits as well.

Training can get better. There isn’t much training done before starting. Benefits are great. Work can get very stressful at times and so do the expectations.

You meet and speak with a lot of client and help them impactful ways. But you are not a Financial Advisor. You’re pushing their managed account solutions and are more like an intermediary
