How long does it take to get hired from start to finish at Charles Schwab? What are the steps along the way?
It depends on the role and the stake holders involved in the selection process. It is highly competitive selection process. Be patient and leverage your opportunities to network.
If selected to move forward in Schwab's hiring process, a background check will be required which includes a credit review (negative debt, default or collections), criminal, educational, residential, employment and a pre-employment drug screening based on federal guidelines.
It depends on the type of role you are looking for. The majority of our opportunities are within our regional Investor Service Centers and are phone based in nature. We also have our Branch Network where you would be engaging with clients in a face-to-face, office setting. You can explore current openings here: http://schwabjobs.com/
It depends on the position and the organization that the position rolls up under. Each business segment has a "policy" in place for their employees and can vary from one organization to another.
How much PTO do they offer the first year and how soon after do they start increasing PTO?
Schwab does not accrue PTO or Paid Time Off bucket. We accrue time off in two separate buckets - vacation time and sick time.
You begin accruing vacation time the first of the month following your start date. The accrual amount can vary depending on job grade; the minimum is 8 hours per month. One's job grade and tenure impacts the increase in vacation accruals. Sick time accrues separately and is based on hours worked.
