Great Culture
E-Services, Financial Services Specialist (Current Employee) –  Austin, TXJanuary 14, 2019
Schwab has a great culture compared to what the financial services culture portrays. Hours can be hard to adjust when dealing with outside activities and responsibilities. Pay is not as competitive as one would expect from an industry like financial services.

Good company, lacks career development
anonymous (Former Employee) –  San Francisco, CADecember 17, 2018
Overall a good company that is very client-centric. Lots of good, smart people there. Also can be political and clique depending on which organization you work for. Working remotely is only an option for the few who are fortunate enough to have flexible managers. Not much career growth opportunities.

Schwab Review
Product/Program Manager (Contract) (Former Employee) –  San Francisco, CADecember 14, 2018
Culture has changed considerably since the dot.com era. A number of geospatial moves out of San Francisco HQs has folks on pins and needles.
They do offer relocation, however.

A great place to work
Associate Financial Service Professional (Current Employee) –  Austin, TXDecember 13, 2018
Encouraging community allowing you to constantly challenge yourself and grow as an individual. You learn something new everyday, and you never take work home with you. The work life balance is perfect.

Throughout the day you're working with people who want you to succeed, and you're working with clients that genuinely want to call and appreciate the company as well as the reps.

Financial Services Representative (Current Employee) –  Austin, TXDecember 12, 2018
Limited growth potential in Austin. Peers/co workers are the best in the industry. Management is difficult at best. Work there and get your licenses then plan to take your career somewhere else.
Pros
co-workers
Cons
health insurance, management, low salary

Great environment with good people
Phone role was very boring and clients were very rude
If you are actually passionate about finance I would not look into the "Financial Professional Role" (resetting passwords on a daily basis)

Branch Client Service Operations (Former Employee) –  Tucson, AZNovember 29, 2018
if you need to get a license and get some experience it is fine. From there move on. Your branch manager is told what to do by people above. the upper level manager have no idea what goes on day to day. stockholder equity seems to be the driver of the company at this point.
Pros
sabbatical
Cons
everything is dictated by upper level managers.
