Milieu Therapist (Former Employee) – Fatima – November 9, 2018
Thought I would be here for a longtime..Despite the nonsense..But at 9am one morning..Thry gsve me and 14 others the door...(Patient care top priority is not their priority)- its $$$ unfortunately...The administration pushes empathy and compassion for the patients but no one pushes administrators to have it with the employees!
Decent benifits..good pay
Too many to mention..Poor staffing for acuity on units..not safe quite often
Anonymous (Current Employee) – Somewhere – September 12, 2018
Management is clueless if not downright stupid Between the ridiculous and unmeetable expectations of time alotted per patient care and over booking , theres no regard for patients only profits. A rough shod assembly line . Management bullies and disregards legitimate suggestions from staff that would make for a more efficient workflow. Human resources listens then completely disregards employees gripes. Working here wont even allow you a restful weekend away from the confision and chaos, youll be dreading monday with a stomacj full of anxiety
Bullying. Low iq management high stress work environment
poor management! They don’t care about their staff!
Anonymous (Former Employee) – Anonymous – August 20, 2018
The management is woefully under trained and not good at what they do. They expect you to rush and push patients through to the detriment of good care. It is impossible to give good care if you are rushed and not given appropriate time. Poor communication between staff members and way too many people working there for the current management to handle properly.
The most enjoyable part of my job is being of service to our patients
Medical Assistant/ secretary (Current Employee) – Providence, RI – August 19, 2018
I have worked for Charter care for 4 yrs, in that time I have learned their are many types of management. That means your needed to be versatile in many skills. That is both a challenge and an opportunity at the same time.
Challenging work, which was good, but the work culture was terrible
Administrative Assistant (Former Employee) – Providence, RI – July 29, 2018
Don't consider working here if you dislike being bullied daily, not listened to, not supported when your work load is too large and not being helped by management or H.R. when you bring harassment to their attention, they'd rather just ignore it. There are many good people who work with Chartercare, but the abusive ones overshadow them ten fold. The training was terrible and the coworkers never want to help you, instead set you up to fail. DO NOT WORK HERE.
Environmental Services (Current Employee) – Providence, RI – May 22, 2018
Please do not come here if you k ow you have wha it takes to be better at something you love to do, you will get bullied and harassed daily and belittled by staff.. this is the worst job I’ve had so far
No communication to staff. No staff meetings, no raises, no rotations as the job was explained to be with all that were hired.
RN (Former Employee) – Providence, RI – March 9, 2018
Favoritism, 32 hours full time opens the door to those staff to do favors and pick up extra time. Those that were already 40 hours could not be the “savior” and pick up that extra shift. RNs working in a crital Care area and unable to perform crustal Care nursing care. Dirty, dusty, but the floors are super waxed every other week. Private Health care information left out on open desk, unattended fax machine. PHC information left out on desk where public has access to. No one doing chart audits in IR, Endo, OR and PACU. DOCUMENTATION in great need for improvement if anyone cared to check. Joint Commination and Rai Health Dept. does not do a deep dive and walks around with management and elect people No one checks a wristband?? Meds left out on Omni cell after everyone has gone home. Who is paying for that medication? Bed management and staffing done when the crisis is underway. No planning ahead by looking at OR admissions for the week. Staff burnt out and leaving. I could go on and on after working at a Magnet Hospital in the same city the only recommendation I can say is please do not go there to work. Benifits, money, call pay the worst and lowest in the State of Rhode Island.
Staff in the trenches are so nice!
Benefits, low pay with no raise in 2 years, lowest call pay in state. NO COMMUNICATION AMONG MANAGEMENT TO STAFF. WEIRD!!
Registered nurse (Former Employee) – Providence, RI – January 27, 2018
With all the recent glowing reviews (5) posted about this homecare in the past month, I suspect management is trying to manipulate there low ratings. You are worked hard, treated with minimal respect, and cannot get guidance from those above. Not a nice place to work.
Clinical staff (Current Employee) – Providence, RI – December 25, 2017
I have worked at many home care agencies but have not worked for one til now that puts the patient first. This is done by the staff who work hard every day to meet the needs of a complex medical population. Management is supportive. Colleagues care about you. Benefits good. I hope to work for this company for many more years to come.
Home Care Nurse (Current Employee) – Providence, RI – December 24, 2017
I am a home care nurse who has worked in this field for over 20 years and have worked at all of the larger home care companies in RI and southern MA. I left them all, most recently last winter due to poor work environments and was greatly relieved that there is still one Home care in RI that provides phenomenal care and the management is extremely supportive of the staff. I would highly recommend this company to any nurse looking to work in a job that they will truly love.
Supportive management, excellent benefits and wages
OR Nurse (Former Employee) – Rhode Island – November 27, 2017
Short staffed. Managers who have friends/very clicky! Worked like a dog. Late breaks, late lunch if any. Required to stay late with no warning. Day starts at 7am and your working in an environment that you would tell your children to stay away from. Workplace culture is very clicky. Horrible managers. If they don't like you, you will be forced out. Human resources cover themselves so be warned. Worse place I have ever worked. The only good part is being a direct care advocate and being there for the patients because the old adage of "The Patient Comes First" NO LONGER EXISTS HERE!! CHarter Care is about MONEY!!!! Bottom line! It is frightening. Run.... as fast as you can.
Medical Secretary (Former Employee) – Rhode Island – August 14, 2017
Management is horrible and they'll take advantage of you until you had enough and quit. Job security is horrible, unless you brown nose you won't get ahead. You get promised a lot of things but nothing ever changes. Seriously apply somewhere else, I'm sure there are good people working for this company but from my experience everyone is cut throat & it's more about money than patient care.
Security Guard (Former Employee) – Providence, RI – July 15, 2017
The work place is pretty hostile. The director will hire anybody. The scheduling seems like it has been done by a person that has a IQ of a raisin. You’ll be by yourself at times because of the schedule. Some supervisors would go out of there way to fire you and get you in trouble. You’d probably get paid more working at McDonald’s.
You’ll probably get the job
No job security. Also they will throw you under bus first chance
Anonymous (Former Employee) – Rhode Island – June 30, 2017
Bullies are favored here, if you are in with management you can get away with threats and slacking off. The hypocrisy and favoritism is unbelievable.. Human Resources will make your complaints your fault, and they will fall on deaf ears.
Security Officer (Former Employee) – Providence, RI – May 24, 2017
Management is awful here, no professionalism. There is no routine and plan on getting sent home when the census is low. Not a single person here is helpful or seeking the best interest of the employee or patient. Rude, unhelpful, over worked and underpaid.
N/A (Former Employee) – Providence, RI – May 17, 2017
Save yourself the time. There is little job security there, they will lay you off with zero notice. The work environment is toxic and all of managment is utterly incompetent and will bully and threaten you with empty threats to get their way. Health insurance is a joke and as for taking time off, good luck with that. Go click on a different company if you need a job.
They will hire anyone
Horrible managment, layoffs, health insurance is a joke
