Great work place for career seekers
Level 4 production operator (Former Employee) –  Brownwood, TXJuly 22, 2018
It's a great place to work with great pay and awesome benefits. The more you excel at your position the more pay raise. Great career opportunities for those who wanna climb the corporate latter. Hours are good but the schedule of switch shift, one month days and one month nights, can make or break you.

Top-Notch Employer
Talent Acquisition Associate (Current Employee) –  The Woodlands, TXMarch 25, 2019
Working at CPChem is enriching, challenging, and can truly develop you as a working professional. The compensation and benefits package is top in it's industry, the safety culture is paramount, and all employees here strive for efficiency and productivity at work.

CPChem also allows for great work-life balance, through 9/80 work schedules, PTO, and volunteer work hours. This company is a great one to start your career with and end your career with.

Lastly, CPChem invests in your future so much. They are always planning your next move to gain you experience and exposure, and they are very good about listening to what you're interested in doing.

I would recommend this company to anyone who has a drive to succeed personally and professionally.

Horrible management
Administrative Assistant (Former Employee) –  Houston, TXMarch 5, 2019
Take your talent elsewhere. Unskilled management and company has a vast HR turnover rate. That should say something. Coworkers will other coworkers under the bus to get ahead. Managers need their ego boost daily and need you to be reminded that they are superior. Diversity and Inclusion is a joke.
Pros
Nothing
Cons
Management, Coexist with coworkers, Lack of teamwork

Process Operator (Current Employee) –  Orange, TXFebruary 26, 2019
Good Safety culture
Learned a lot about safety, leadership, operations, maintenance, Operational Excellence, PSM, VPP, Conduct of Operations and Operational Discipline.
Management is engaged and focused
Hardest part of my job is never knowing in advance when I will have a day off of work for personal time unless I'm on vacation - Lack of work/life balance.
The most enjoyable part is learning and continuous improvement.
Pros
Excellent safety culture
Cons
No work/life balance

Working at Chevron Phillips was a great opportunity to use my experience and skills to their fullest. A typical day was to be a liaison between the business users and our offshore team, this included gathering requirements, creating specifications and working with our offshore team to successful implementations.
Pros
Great company, great benefits
Cons
Positions were often offshored

Level 4 Operator (Former Employee) –  Williamstown, KYFebruary 5, 2019
A typical day at work would include running Extrusion Lines producing polyethylene gas pipe. Daily report writing, accountability on production, quality control checks, preventive maintenance checks and services, banding pipes to shipment requirements, utilized forklifts and overhead crane to stage pipe, and displayed good housekeeping.

Can't recommend
AP Freight Payables Clerk (Former Employee) –  Houston, TXJanuary 24, 2019
scapegoating was rampant and bullying by management was encouraged no matter how well you did your job.

There is a cult of safety, not just professional observation of it.

good for a paycheck but that's about it. Hard work is not recognized nor rewarded.

While working at Chevron I truly enjoined working with the co-workers that was on site, I was over the PE site and over the main contractor for guidance and OSHA regulations for the whole site. I would work for them again if giving the opportunity.

Contract Representative (Current Employee) –  The Woodlands, TXOctober 16, 2018
For the most part is it pleasurable to work here. The people are friendly and approachable. It is one of those places that doesn't seem to value experience. If you're a grad, great place for you.

Depends on Manager and Department
Staff Auditor (Former Employee) –  The Woodlands, TXSeptember 19, 2018
Engineers and other roles may enjoy working for this company. This is a white male dominated company that can be incredibly destructive to employees careers. Managers are able to work without over site and depending on the manager and department you may have a nice work group or work in a toxic environment. It has sexist and racist overtones and employees will work long hours without acknowledgement unless you are an engineer or in a key role. I would not suggest this company to anyone but the pay and benefits are nice.
