Reviews about Pay & Benefits for Bus Driver in Chicago Transit Authority

Decent workplace

Decent gig. A lot of deductions but decent pay. Management sucks, they hire anybody off the street to be a manager. Takes 3.5-4 years to top out and 1 year before you contribute to pension.

Transportation Service for the city of Chicago that provides great pay, stability, and career opportunities.

Throughout the years my growth and values have changed continually, but overall this company has allowed me to make a good living for myself as a city employee that is home nightly and with availability for overtime is so desired. The company itself is independently-owned, and has managed to stay self sufficient throughout the pandemic and post- pandemic. If you’re looking for a career that you can build on and grow this company provides it.

Pros

Career Job, Benefits, Pay

Cons

Long hours, Lack of Employees(Pandemic)

A great career but very stressful

Being a full-time bus operator for CTA is a very stressful job. The management team at your garage it's not there to help you or support you. They are only there to discipline you. Some days will make you feel like just quitting due to the stressful environment .
