Office Manager (Former Employee) – Covington, LA – December 30, 2017
The Children's Advocacy Center is a nonprofit organization working with Forensic Interviewers to substantiate cases of victims of child abuse. As Office Manager, I provided fundamental support to the staff and worked closely with law enforcement, social services and the District Attorney's office. The hardest part of the job was learning of the horrific abuse these children suffered. The most enjoyable part of the job was knowing that we were helping in the healing process for the victims and building the cases against the perpetrators so that they would be prosecuted.
Executive Assistant & HR Specialist (Former Employee) – Daytona Beach, FL – August 9, 2017
The Children's Advocacy Center was a great organization that had a heartfelt purpose of helping children in need who had been mentally, physically, and sexually abused. Sadly the organization is no longer in existence due to financial hardships.
Intern (Former Employee) – Pine Bluff, AR – July 20, 2017
A typical day at the center would be greeting all parents and children as they walk through the door in the morning. The hardest part of the job is making sure that you are doing everything each parent has asked you to do for their child. The easy part of the job is developing a relationship with each child and there parents. I've learned that children can get attached to those who really care about them.
Adult educator (Former Employee) – Ft. Myers Fl – January 3, 2014
Part time job, taught parents how to become better parents, social skills and log information on their charts for court review. Management was awesome, loved working here. Co-workers were wonderful and helpful. Hardest part of the jobs were the stories, and not to prejudge. I enjoyed everything else.
Provides quality services to children who have experienced abuse
Internship (Former Employee) – Bristol, VA – August 20, 2013
The CAC is an excellent work place. The staff work together as a team with a clear focus on the mission of the organization. The CAC provides forensic interviews, case management, and counseling to children who have experienced abuse and their non-offending caregiver. The CAC also provides abuse prevention and community awareness services. The management does an excellent job of setting a supportive work environment and of keeping the agency's focus on its mission. As an MSW student my primary role was providing individual and group counseling to children who had experienced abuse. Counseling techniques included play therapy, TF-CBT, and solution-focused therapy. The most enjoyable part of the job was helping victims of abuse to find healing. The hardest part of the job was leaving it when my internship ended.
