Children’s Mercy is definitely the best hospital in the city to work for as far as culture, support from management, work environment and benefits programs.

What is the best part of working at the company? The kids/patientsWhat is the most stressful part about working at the company?Lack of managerial supportWhat is the work environment and culture like at the company?not rewarding enough to front line staff; upper management makes decisions without understanding all factorsWhat is a typical day like for you at the company?Busy but not too busy; kids are expected to make some tasks take longer
Respiratory Therapist in Missouri

CMH had great team work with the respiratory staff as well as the doctors and nurses. If I move back to Kansas City I would like to work there again.
Nurse in Kansas City, MO
on October 28, 2022
Seems to be short staffed quite frequently. Sky high expectations for staff, but resources to get the job done are limited. Management can be condescending to the front line staff and tend to hide away in constant “important” meetings and meaningless projects.
Registered Nurse in Kansas
on September 21, 2022
I recently transferred to a different hospital due to poor staffing and negative work environment. I used to be proud to say I worked there but, unfortunately, they have lost sight of what is important over the past few years. Very focused on our physical appearance to the public but the organization is crumbling internally. RNs, RTs, and CAs are still trying to provide good care to our patients but morale is low due to poor leadership. I would take my kids there to receive medical treatment, but would not recommend working here anymore. Being a pediatric nurse is hard and other hospitals in the area will value you more.
